Melody's POV
I felt water being splashed on my face and immediately shot up in my cosy bed. I opened my eyes rubbing the water away and my vision focused on Alisha wearing a very happy grin.
"Get up! You have your appointment today and Linda is waiting down stairs for you." She said shaking me little, to emphasis her point.
I groaned but looked at the time, it was ten o'clock. I have one hour and thirty minutes to get ready. I bounded downstairs and decided to make breakfast for everyone. Walking into the kitchen I saw Linda waiting talking to Cassie. She wore some denim jeans and a white sweater.
"Yeah, but my father let me live down here and well here I am!" She laughed, Cassie nodded smiling brightly.
"Morning." I greeted to two girls.
"Morning Mel." Cassie said, "What is for breakfast."
"Morning." Linda charmed in.
"We are having egg on toast, I can't be bothered to make anything else." I walked towards the cabinets and grabbed a loaf of bread. Putting the bread in the toaster, I wandered over to the other side of the kitchen grabbing a fry pan and eggs. Cracking the eggs perfectly I waited for the four eggs to cook. I pushed the button down on the toaster and Alisha walked in.
"You still haven't washed the water off your face." She stated smirking.
I rolled my eyes but grabbed a tea towel and ran it over my face, "There."
"You better wash that." Cassie giggled.
"You guys are such great friends." Linda said.
We gave her a confused look and she explained, "You all joke, all have the same stances. Just my perspective."
"Well, Thank you Linda, you would make a great friend as well." Alisha said while Linda beamed.
"You think so?" She asked.
"Yeah of course!" Cassie chipped in.
I heard the toast pop up and went to go flip the eggs, grabbing tomato sauce out of the fridge after. Once everything finished and cleaned we sat down in the lunge room, eating out meals.
I ate mine before anyone else, "I am going to get ready." I said standing up and putting my dishes in the sink. Climbing up the stairs I walked into my room.
It was eleven o'clock by now so I straightened my hair and put on a floral jumpsuit with some sandals. I applied mascara to my lashes and some lipstick and voila! I checked my phone for any new messages. I had one from Linda saying that she was coming over and two from Chase.
Goodnight.
Oh, and I need to talk to you.
I furrowed my eyebrows, why did he want to talk to me? Guess I will find out, I replied to him saying:
Okay, come over this afternoon around two.
I switched my phone off when I heard Linda calling for us to leave. We walked out of the building together and made our way towards the little shop.
"You think we will get it?" She asked looking at me, "I am kind of nervous."
"Don't be. I am sure we will be fine." I said putting a comforting hand on her shoulder.
"Yeah. I just can't wait." She said calmly.
"Neither." I said as we were one block away from the shop. We were five minutes early but that didn't matter. I heard the bell chime as we walked through the doors.
"Oh, you are early!" The woman said coming out from the back.
"Yeah." Linda nervously laughed.
"Well follow me and I will show you around." She smiled kindly and we nodded.
She showed us the back and other rooms, we then went back to where we started and she asked if we liked it.
"Yeah, it is pretty impressive." Linda said, we decided she will do the talking to calm her nerves, "How much?"
"It is twenty six thousand." The woman said looking at us.
Linda's eyes widened and she looked at me, "We can take it." I chipped in.
The woman looked at me with a confused look, "Are you sure? Would you be able to afford it?"
"Yes, of course." I said thinking about the money we inherited, Mum and Dad won't mind.
"Melody, can I talk to you for a second?" Linda said signalling her head for me to follow.
I nodded and walked over she looked at me and said, "We can't!"
"Yeah, we can." I chuckled.
"How on earth will we get that money?" She said arching an eyebrow.
I told her about my grandparents passing and the money we inherited she nodded slowly processing it through her head, "Are you sure?"
"Yes. You can buy the decorations and everything. It is okay." I said shrugging.
"Okay." She sighed, "Thanks."
"No problem." We walked back to the lady and said that we will take it. We bid our good byes and was about to leave the store when she said, "Oh, Wait!"
I turned around and said, "Yes?"
"You can have the store but in four weeks we are having a farewell convention. You girls can come since you will be the owners and there are a lot of important people there. So dress nicely." She said kindly.
"Do we have to bring dates?" Linda hurriedly said.
"If you want." The woman laughed, "Oh and my name is Marissa."
"Good bye Marissa." I said waving as Linda followed me lead.
**
I got back to the apartment exhausted from the long walk alone. I glanced at the time to see it was one thirty. Cassie went to go shopping whereas Alisha went to the gym. I walked up stairs and nearly jumped out of my own skin when I saw Chase sitting on my bed.
"What are you doing here?" I whispered.
Chase burst out into a fit of laughter, "Why are you whispering? No one's home."
I blushed but snapped back, "How did you get in?"
"Your window was open and it was easy to climb up to the second floor." He shrugged and I rolled my eyes.
Only Chase.
"Okay, what did you want to talk about?" I said remembering the text he sent me last night.
"Oh right, Derrick is going to hide tomorrow. Since I am meeting Jedd he told me to come alone. He obviously is going to bring friends, so am I. Mine just will be hidden. You follow Derrick; you do what Derrick commands and for the love of god don't leave your hiding spot." Chase said looking at me firmly.
"Fine, but I do what I say but I will follow Derrick. Where are we meeting?" I said looking at Chase.
"Derrick will pick you up and you guys will be walking to the house earlier around seven o'clock in the morning. That way he can't see your cars and you will get there around seven thirty." Chase stated.
"Why that early?" I asked raising my eyebrows.
"Because, that way Jedd will have no idea you are there and you would be able to find a better hiding spot." He said he pushed himself off my bed and walked over to me, "Be careful."
That was all he said before he went downstairs and walked out of my apartment. What just happened? All I know is tomorrow was going to be a hell of a day.
