Melody's POV
I stood there as I watched him move away. One minute we are fine but the next we aren't, does he have bi polar?
Chase looked over his shoulder and said, "Well are you coming?"
I snapped out of my trance and jogged up to him. We walked at the same pace in silence until our friends came into view over the mass crowd. Chase went straight to his whispering something into Derricks ear. I went to mine telling them parts of the story.
"So, you are going with Chase?" Alisha asked.
"And the rest of us." Derrick chipped in, taking a glance at me he nodded in acknowledgement.
"Yeah." I said turning my attention back to the girls.
"We are coming as well." Cassie states walking up to me.
"No, Cassie it would put you in danger." I said worriedly.
"Well that didn't stop you?" Chase stepped in, quite rudely.
"Let's just go on the roller coaster and sort this all out later." Alisha finally spoke up.
I nodded in agreement and we all made our way to the short line. The girls in front of us were giggling eyeing Chase up and down. He smirked in their direction and felt a pang in my stomach.
I am not jealous.
It is just nerves. Right?
We finally made it and went to our seats. I saw one of the girls go up to Chase and sit in the seat next to him. I sighed and went to go sit with Roderick but that seat was taken by Brock. I chose to go to Derrick but he was sitting next to a girl as well. Alisha and Cassie sat next to each other.
I grumbled but made my way over to the seat which was two behind Chase's. A guy with sandy blonde hair and bright brown eyes caught my eye. He smiled and me, nodded saying I can sit next to him. I had a grin on my face and wandered over to him.
Sliding into the seat next to him I smiled, "Hi."
"Hey." He said gruffly showing his dimples.
I blushed and went to strap myself in but the belt seemed to be stuck. The boy leaned over and put it on for me. He looked at me and laughed at my blush.
"My name is John." He said sticking out his hand.
"Mel- OH!" The roller coaster jolted forward in lightening speed. I screamed through every twist and turn. John laughed at everything I did. The roller coaster ride finally ended and we all got off. Me tripping over my feet. John chuckled holding a hand out for me.
I gingerly took it and shook it, "Melody."
"Nice meeting you Melody, can I get your number?" He arched an eyebrow.
I felt a large hand around my forearm dragging me away from the handsome specimen, "No."
I looked to see Chase's stone expression and angrily said, "What are you doing?"
"Taking you home." He stated.
"I don't want to go home, I want to give my number to the cute guy." I snapped back.
"Well, you can't." He snarled.
I rolled my eyes, "Why not?"
"Chase, where are you going!" Brock yelled out.
"I am taking Melody home!" He replied with.
"We were just about to play the balloon game!" Derrick screamed.
Chase sighed and let go of my arm, "You want to?" He looked at me softly.
"Yes, I do." I stormed away from him and walked back over to our group of friends. Chase followed behind.
We finally reached the balloon table and Chase handed fifteen dollars to the girl. She winked and I rolled my eyes.
We all picked up four darts and started aiming. Cassie aimed for the teddy bear and we laughed when she said if she hits it she gets it. Chase hit all of the balloons perfectly and won a huge stuffed dragon.
"Here." He handed it to me, "Sorry?"
"You can have it Chase. Just like that guy could've had my number." I said quite annoyed.
"Oh, c'mon. Forgive me?" He said taking a step forward.
"Nope." I said popping the 'p'.
He growled and picked me up throwing me over his shoulder, I shrieked, "Chase, put me down! Now!"
"Nope." He said imitating me.
I started hitting on his back as my friends laughed. They then went into action realising what was happening.
"Put our friend down!" Alisha said smiling.
"No! I am taking her home!" He yelled over his shoulder.
"You know we can do that right?" Cassie said crossing her arms.
Chase threw his head back in a laugh, "I know!"
There was silence because we were so far away we couldn't hear them. We reached the car and I said, "You can put me down now."
He did and opened the door for me, I rolled my eyes but still got in. He took Derricks keys since Derrick is going home with a girl, player. Brock and Nathaniel are catching a bus to a new club. Cassie and Alisha are just meeting us back by the looks of it.I heard the engine rumble and we zoomed off.
After a full thirty minutes of silence. I looked at Chase then back out the window.
"You know. I really did want to give that guy my number." I looked at him with a scowl.
"I just don't want you to get distracted." Chase sighed.
"How is that a distraction? He will text me and I will get shot? Oh no!" I said sarcastically.
"Don't joke about that." He looked at me pointedly.
"Okay, I see where you are coming from. Sorry." I answered him.
"You are forgiven. Do you forgive me?" He looked at me softly.
"I guess you will have to wait for that response." I said as we pulled up to the apartment block.
I got out of the car grinning from ear to ear. Good job Mel! I walked into the apartment pressing the buttons to lead my floor. I opened the door and locked it behind me. Climbing up the stairs I went towards my room. Washing the makeup off and putting my hair into a bun and put my pyjamas on. I jumped onto my bed and was about to fall asleep when I heard my phone 'ping'.
I rolled over and grabbed the phone to see a text:
Your response better be soon. Sweet dreams. Chase
I smiled and texted back:
Maybe. Maybe not. Goodnight Chase.
After that I fell into a blissful sleep.
