Melody's POVThe next day Chase sobered up and was back to his usual self, threatening for me to not tell anybody or he will kill me.
I am so scared.
Not.
I was walking towards Linda's house. Is it weird that she is one year younger than me but she has a house? I think so. I approached the house to see her run out of it smiling, she ran up to me giving me a tight hug then pulling away. We decided to get to know each other more and tomorrow we are going for the appointment and we want to be certain that we will own the shop together.
"Hey! Come inside I have tea and some gummy bears. Is that weird?" She asked me.
I shook my head laughing, "Kind of, but it is fine."
Linda has that aura around her that you just have to smile; she is so bubbly and happy that you can just smile by being around her. A good trait to have. We walked inside and I plopped myself on one of her couches.
"Okay, so do you want to go first? Or do you want me to?" She asked getting all excited and giddy.
"You can go." I said with a big smile.
"Really? Well okay. Well hey." She did a small wave and I rolled my eyes, "So I wanted to start up a café because I wanted to always own a little vintage store ever since I was eleven. I thought it was so cool and it is really in right now. People always used to tease me because of it though." She ran a hand through her hair.
"What I bring to school were mason jars as water bottles and my hair always had some sort of accessory. I used to get bullied a lot by a group of girls. I used to go home crying to my father every night. My Mum left us when I was seven, but it was okay. We still keep in contact and she pays what she needs to. My older sister went along with her; my older sister's name was Pam. She is actually a really successful record producer. Not really big but it is enough. I sometimes talk to her, not as much as I used to though, but yeah that was my life. What about you?" She opened up.
"Well, I guess I met Cassie and Alisha when I was eleven. So I have known them for ten years now. I am an only child, and my parents are still together. I did pretty well I met Cassie in a maths competition when I stood up for her to this girl named Molly. I met Alisha when I tried out for a cheer leading squad but I didn't make it. Alisha and Cassie have become like sisters to me, you know?" I said.
"I actually wouldn't, the only friend I had was my older sister." Linda said, my eyes widened and I replied with, "Well you have me now."
At that Linda smile brightly and hugged me, "Anyways, go on."
So I told her everything from Trent to the baby dying, there were some tears shed but not many. The last thing I told her was Chase. Not his past, but with what everything that has been happening.
"Wow, to me it sounds like Chase really likes you." I shook my head at her reply.
"He can't." I stated.
"Why?" She questioned.
"I-I don't know." I blushed.
She laughed but changed the topic, "So, do you want to buy the store together or?"
"I think we both know that answer." I spoke; she jumped up and hugged me tightly.
"Thank you." She mumbled.
"Your welcome, but I also should be thanking you."
She threw her head back laughing, "Your welcome."
I glanced at the time on my phone and my eyes widened, "I need to get going."
"Why?" She asked.
"I am late for this prank thing." I said.
She looked at me confused but we bid our goodbyes. After I left I sprinted home, back for the ceremony. It is meant to declare the winner of the prank war. Really it is just we say who won, hand over the money and spend a night going out to a club, amusement park, or any festival on. I came home to an angry Cassie and Alisha.
"I am so sorry, I am late." I said a little out of breathe.
"Okay, you look like you ran the whole way here." Alisha joked.
"Because I did." The girls chuckled and we entered the living room, I was surprised to see Chase in the room.
"What are you doing here?" I asked shocked.
"Why I am here to declare the winner of course, after there is a carnival a little bit out of town and the girls agreed to going. Derrick, Brock, and Nathaniel would be there by now. So let's hurry up." Chase smirked.
Alisha, Cassie, and I plonked down on the couch as Chase stayed standing up.
"The winner is..." Chase paused for about a minute.
"Oh hurry up." Cassie groaned.
"Melody." Chase smiled up at me.
"What? She must have cheated." Alisha exclaimed.
I looked at her confused, "Weren't you here last night?"
"No, Cassie and I went to a party and stayed the night after your little run in with Molly." Alisha said.
"Why?" Cassie said amused.
I groaned, "Go to your rooms, you will see."
They walked upstairs and burst out laughing, "You did this!" Alisha called from upstairs.
"Yes!" I yelled back.
They came back down grinning from ear to ear, "Aww good try," Cassie mocked.
"Well, since she was meant to play the prank on you guys I guess she does win," Chase chipped in, "C'mon look at her, she obviously wanted to win." He coaxed on even more.
"Fine." Alisha sighed as Cassie ruffled my hair.
I grumbled but then smile lit my face and I held out my hand, "Well I believe you guys owe more forty dollars but didn't we agree on our tenth year you chip in five extra dollars, so I believe I get fifty dollars."
Alisha rolled her eyes but handed over twenty five bucks with Cassie after her.
"Okay," Chase clapped his hand, "Go get ready."
We did exactly that, I ran upstairs and straight into my room. Picking out some black skinny jeans and a floral top. I grabbed a light wash jacket and some black ankle boots.
I put the outfit on when Alisha ran into my room, "I am doing your hair!" She exclaimed,
"What no! I am!" Cassie screamed from her room.
"I am capable of doing it myself you know." I laughed.
"Hurry up!" I heard Chase say, I could hear his footsteps going up the stairs and stop at my room.
"You guys look stunning." He said breathlessly. Alisha and I blushed as Cassie said 'What about me' in a high pitched girly voice. She entered my room wearing a black leather jacket with a white playsuit. She wore grey flats, as Alisha was wearing a white and blue floral dress and a pink cardigan with some pink flats. I heard my curler beep and turned my attention to it.
"I can do your hair." Alisha offered.
"I can if you want." Cassie said straight after shooting Alisha a glare. Thing is about these two is that they love doing people's hair and make-up.
"I can do it, since it is my hair." I said, I heard Chase snicker.
I put some mascara on with blush and Chap Stick. I curled the ends of my hair and grabbed my purse and phone after turning the curler off.
I looked at them under my lashes, "Okay, let's go."
Chase mumbled, "Finally."
This should be fun, after all I do have an extra fifty bucks.
