The Apology

Siddharth woke up by the little squeak made by the nurse who came to inspect him.
"God! That's a miracle. Your wounds have filled up overnight. I presume I'm a good doctor."

She chucked to herself, helping Siddharth to sit up inspecting him carefully. She was shocked since healing severe wounds, given by magic, so quickly was not a general thing. And those wounds just filled up overnight, without leaving any marks. She made herself sure before allowing him to go. He was fine.

'I have not had such a calm sleep in the past five months. The nightmare I had yesterday, had been bothering me a lot before this session began. Witnessing the same dream almost every second or third night, recalling different aspects of my past with my parents and then they ended up the same way. Hearing screeches of a woman which are intolerable. The only thing I wonder is why? Why do I see this dream again and again?'

Siddharth walked out of the hospital and noticed the school getting deserted since many had already made their way home. He walked lonely, deeply in his own thoughts when his eyes caught sight of Aisha bidding farewell to her friends.
"I hope when we return, we'll find you alive and in the same conditions we are leaving you."

Bani uttered in extreme concern and had a fierce coldness in her tone. They all stood around Aisha in a semi-circle. Leaving Swara, they all were slightly away from Aisha. They were scared of her. His eyes diverted to Aisha who was in no state to talk to them. She just wore a smile and was agreeing with every single thing she was being asked to do.

"Aisha, you can talk to us, you know. Take help from someone and send us a message. Take care, honey."

Ishita uttered in a calm voice that hardly suited her nature. She had always been the one outspoken person in the flock of calm sheep. That sweetness was not a part of her, she sounded weird. Although she was being nice to her, she stayed away from Aisha.

Namrata failed to say anything but give a soft embrace to Aisha, being the first person to walk away. Soon she was followed by Bani and Ishita while Swara threw herself upon Aisha and said,
"As I said, they need time. And very soon they will be able to understand things. Now, allow me. Take care. Bye!"

She waved and walked away. Aisha dropped right there on the edge of the stairs after all four girls got out of her sight. She kept on staring at the gates and a small tear made out from the corner of her eye.

'It is senseless to curse that nightmare when I have a living one in front of me. Now I remember... she was there at night, I saw her. She did something to me... (after a moment of realisation)
She healed me... She!... not the nurse. This girl is making me go crazy. She did something, she held me. She what?... She touched me, held me, and I held her. I still have the feeling of her fingers between mine. She can touch me as and when she wants to and then, I get shocks when it's me. Pathetic!'

He walked up to her hoping he could get an answer to what she did the night before.
"Aisha?"

He called her from the back when she blinked her eyes after a long stare and stood up sternly to face him. She had disappointment on her face as he continued,
"You came to the..."

He was interrupted by her as she walked to him saying,
"You are fine? Well, you look so. Your wounds have healed... You're okay."

Then she suddenly stopped herself. She had something struck her so hard, that she stood paralyzed for a second before she turned cold.
"Yes... Good that you came yourself because I too wanna ask things."

They had a respectable distance between them when Aisha said,
"I feel like I need a psychologist. I live every moment and then the minute next I just go blank as to what happened previously. Such a shame of having a brain when you forget things just like that."
