The Hidden Emotions
Aisha's room was knocked on. When she opened it, her eyes fell on her friends, who were glaring at her.
"Don't you think you were supposed to be at the hospital?"
Ishita asked with anger in her tone when Bani added,
"Right! We should have found you there, not in here... Getting... dressed?"
They walked in when Swara rolled her eyes, standing at the door, and said,
"What we heard was, 'the patient ran away in the middle of the night without telling the authorities. Aisha, how can you act so foolish? What if you were caught loitering after the curfew? You know that we are not supposed to be out after nine."
Aisha shook her head and, with a calm expression, said,
"But, I wasn't feeling good in there. I was missing this room, I mean, I know I am not much attached to this place, but I've grown fond of this room."
She tried her best to act innocent and soon convinced her friends.
"So will you be attending the classes?"
Namrata asked with doubt when Aisha shrugged, saying,
"I'm already in my uniform, and I am not the one who likes skipping classes to rest and relax. So yes, I will be attending them."
Not being much pleased with her answer, they all had to agree with her since they were supposed to keep her happy. Keep her happy! Happy when this word has eroded from the dictionary of her life. All the words closely related to happiness were drained and drenched out of her life. But here they stood in the hope of writing new words in any space found in her dictionary. Here they were, to heal a wound with the love of their friendship, just like a mother's presence heals all pains. Here they were to make her feel good, even when the chances of success in this were equivalent to the two O's in the word 'good' representing a double zero. 'g00d'. But they were here to try. They were here to clean the stains of her tears and prevent any new loss of sour emotions.
Aisha was spotted in the canteen, and people looked at her suspiciously. However, this time, a few eyes were full of concern. The professors were worried about her health and remained lenient towards her. No matter what, there were still plenty of people who were discussing 'Aisha is a threat'. But this time, they were all speaking lowly. Rumours in schools spread the fastest. Everyone was aware of the incident that took place the day before and how bad it was for her to reach the hospital. It was already announced in all buildings by the captains not to discuss Aisha's case anywhere around her since she was 'mentally unstable and ill'.
The day went by calmly and easily. The last lecture of the day, Magic!
"Magic! The most interesting things in the universe. Magic for us is hereditary. If born a Mayavi, is a Mayavi. No exception unless you denounce it yourself or are deprived of your magic because of some sin. Magic is also a gift. For us, it is, but then some people get it because they are very able. They are the ones who are gifted; they don't hold the magic because it has been passed on to them. No! They were worthy. They were stronger and deserving, so they got it. There is one among a thousand humans who are blessed with Maya or any other form of magical powers, despite their parents being humans. Such people are worthy people."
"A long time back, magic was a thing for everyone. Everyone was worthy. Everyone was strong and deserving... And greedy. Greedy for magic. A Mayavi wanted to learn tantra, and a Tantrik wanted to get our magical stones. Humans wanted to attain both. Humans were also the holders of many powerful magical weapons, spells and more things which made them stand in power with us, and with the Tantrik. There was once a Mortal Stone. Very strong! It allowed humans to do magic, learn magic, know magic and absorb magic. It was like a road of connectivity between mortal and immortal beings, encompassing life and death, magic and non-magic. But, after the war, before the partition, that stone was destroyed. It was destroyed to make men forget the magic. And thus, that happened. Men forgot the existence of magic, and the only heavenly, supernatural power left known to them was God. Men became dependent. His powers were now the gift of God and not any stone. Never did the magical gifts of humans pass on to the next generation, not even now. It has been observed, always a blessed mortal who got more than his limits was cut off from his reign at the right time. Always! Man decreased his worth with time."
"But magic! It's the truth of the universe. The main source of it is the Main stone we also call Maha Mani. The first thing to be categorised as magical. This stone had the dignity to hold all powers, give them and use them. It could be said that it rules the entire universe since it's all about magic. Most powerful! So, we, the magic holders, are supposed to worship the origin of magic in the first place, and we do that.
Now, what our history tells us is that the stone had lived free until people showed their desire to win it. It had no prominent known holder to look up to. Many went to try their chance on the holy, powerful and universal body. But none was more capable than the holder God created for that stone. This Main Stone is like the brain. The master of all magic. This stone is the first and most beautiful diamond to ever come into existence. When it was created, it was very huge, but when it was tried to be destroyed, it disintegrated itself into smaller pieces of rocks and divided its sole power into each of its particles, capable of one. This way, the stone became indestructible. The largest piece of the Main Stone is the only perfectly carved diamond. It's the heart of the whole stone. There are many of these separated particles, big, small, visible, and invisible, in this universe. Diamonds! The purest, hardest and oldest diamonds, which cannot be destroyed by any other than the Main Stone. All the supernatural diamonds are bound to the Main stone and its holder.
Every diamond has always had a holder, so did the Main Stone. People's growing greed made the holders of many diamonds try to possess the most powerful one so that they might rule the universe. But, Main Stone, it's the greatest, mastermind, and the most dangerous power to possess. In the race for possession, most people have disappeared into the wide darkness for this stone.
Such a sinful war was the division. A war for power. That time, everyone threw themselves to get that stone with all their power and even more. The greatest power! And thus, the Main Stone, who has always had a protector, was compelled to be secured. The holder showed up, came into the mortal world to finally mark their existence, sorted everything, destroyed the human stone, and disappeared again. But who it is is yet unknown to anyone. But that's sure, someone rules this universe. This knowledge is passed on by the Royal Family and the very learned magicians of different tribes, including the sages and priests who got themselves attached to heavenly souls and Gods. That was the first and last time we learned that the Main Stone is only a source of all power; the mastermind behind this universe is someone else who had no known form till then. That's it.
Now, what we need to know here is what powers are stored in the Main Stone. If we look here, in the book, it's written,
