I sighed at his words before getting up. Kai did the same, a challenging smirk on his pink lips.

"Damon has a girlfriend and besides that, you may be a sociopath but I am much worse, darling."

Kais smirk widened into a grin.

"I know. Layla Odessa St. John, ripper of Phoenix."

Wow. I had no idea how to react. He probably gathered these informations from Bonnie and Damon, but it caused me to feel somewhat pathetic. He knew quite a lot aboutmy past while I just knew his name.

Kai.

"So are we just gonna wait for lover boy to show up or..?"

I, again, rolled my eyes. "I'm making food that's not filled with vervain." I stated with attitude drooling from my voice. Kai just nodded, that grin never leaving his face. I made my way into the kitchen and he followed me. I turned the stove on and while I scanned the cupboards for something edible, a crazy sounding chuckle filled my ears. My narrow eyes turned to Kai.

"Sorry- Sorry it's just–"

He suddenly stopped laughing and stared at me as if he was trying to look into my soul. My hate towards this guy started growing insanely fast.

"You're very pretty for a vampire.."

And then I felt his hand on my cheek, but the stove had finally heated up to its highest , so I grabbed Kais wrist and pressed his palm onto the hot plate. He let out a painful groan but tried smirking through his agony.

"Don't you dare to touch me again."

I gifted the socipath a dangerous smile, before freeing him from the pain and turning off the stove.

"I have to admit-" Kai said, holding his hand under the running sink. As the cold water touched his burnt hand, he closed his eyes in relief.

"Vamp Boy didn't exaggerate when he talked about you."

I tried not to look all too confused. I wonder why Damon felt the urge to talk about me in detail, especially to Kai. Since Kai was still busy with his hand, I used my chance to get at least one minute without this sociopath. I made my way into the basement and grabbed a blood bag.

As I came upstairs again Kai was munching on some pork rinds. He smiled at me and reached the bag out. "Want some?" I just shook my head and sat down on the opposite chair.

"So what's going on with you and Demoun Salvatore?" I really was not in the mood to talk about my relationship to Damon, which clearly was just platonic. There was nothing else between us and I had no idea why Kai insisted that Damon was in love with me.

God, I saw him looking at Elena and knew it was over for me.

"Hey heretic girl I'm talking to you."

He snapped his fingers in front of my face and made me come back to reality.

"No idea what you're on but Damon and I are best friends."

Kais pinched his brows together. It seemed like he was trying to solve a puzzle. He tossed the bag of pork rinds onto the table and put on that smirk that I wanted to puch off his face so bad.

"Ohh I smell a tragic story.."

I decided not to give much meaning to his words and continued drinking the A positive blood.

"He rejected you when you wanted him, didn't he?"

I was taken aback by his pretty correct interpretation of our past. Once Kai noticed my guilty face, he chuckled.

"Man love is so pathetic."

I threw the empty bloodbag onto the wooden table.

"It's not pathetic but I'm not stupid enough to explain love to a sociopath so.."

I crossed my arms and leaned into the chair.

"Good girl."

Something in me turned when I heard that praising sentence coming from his mouth. It was weird, but I couldn't decide if it was weird in a good or bad way.

"Not gonna lie, I thought you were uhh- how do I say this nicely?"

Kai tried brooding out an nice way to say something while I just looked at my nails. The red polish started peeling off and I hated the look of it.

"I thought a girl who would let Damon Salvatore near her is not clever. That was nice, wasn't it?"

I slowly really got sick of his voice. In these few hours he had already spoken more words than I ever did in 170 years of existing on this planet.

"You know, it's getting harder with every second."

The man in front of leaned towards me and played confused.
"How do you know?"

What- As soon as I got what he was referring to I scrunched my face in disgust.

"I mean not killing you!"

Kai scoffed and shook his head. "Ever killed a sociopath sweetie?" I shrugged my shoulders and gifted him a deadly stare.

"There's always a first time."

"So it has to be someone special, right?"

His ambiguous game annoyed the hell out of me, but I knew that two could play this game.  I nodded with a seductive smirk tugging on my lips as I placed my hand on his neck. Kais attention was now fully on my eyes, so he did not notice my other hand reaching for the knife on the table.

"You'd make the perfect canditate for my first time."

Kai quickly ripped the knife out of my hand and pulled me over the table while squeezing my neck. Bloody hell-!

"I think we're talking about different first times sweetheart."

My hand reached for the fork and I quickly slammed it right into his neck. Kai had to let go of me to pull the fork out of his soft skin. He tumbled a little before he sunk back into his chair. As soon as he calmed down a little, a short laugh parted his lips. He threw the bloody fork right in front of my seat.

"We're gonna have a lot of fun together, ripper."
