- DAMON -

"Bon! Did you get her back?" I rushed into the room and looked at Laylas grey body laying on my bed. This sight answered my question.
"I'm close Damon, I can feel it -"

"You said that two months ago Bonnie!"

My best friend flinched at my loud voice making me instantly regret my yelling. I just couldn't control myself in the last time. Layla couldn't die - she just couldn't. Neither I nor Enzo were going to let that happen.
We would not give her up again.

"I'm gonna leave you alone."

Bonnie left the room and closed the door behind. I kneeled down to the bed and took her hand.
"I know that you're alive." A slight smile appeared on my lips. "And I also know that you'd kill me if you woke up to this.." I looked at her peeled off nail polish and grinned.

I didn't know why she always wanted to have red nails, but it suited her. Everything suited her.
She was a goddess.

After I cleaned the left over polish I grabbed the tiny, red bottle from the drawer next to the bed and started painting her nails.

"I'm just gonna pretend that you hear me so.."

After finishing her first nail I proudly smiled. Not bad.

"Don't you ever think on giving up, we're here. Enzo headed to New Orleans to ask Klaus for help. You see where you got me?"

I scoffed and dipped the brush in the paint.
"I am desperate enough to ask Klaus Mikaelson for help." Once I finished her right hand I blew some cold air on her nails and waited for them to dry before continuing with her other hand.

"I'd even sell my soul to the devil to get you back Odessa."

My jaw clenched as my vampire ears heard someone knocking on the front door. I decided to ignore it and went on with her left hand.

"Do you know when I realized that I truly loved you?"

Of course she's not gonna answer idiot.
I rolled my eyes at my inner voice and shook my head.

"That one day in Augustine.. You know damn well which day I'm talking about, don't you?"

Remembering that day made me smile. Yea I suffered on that day, but Layla was the cure to all my pain in there.

"The day you gave me your daily blood dose.."

I felt tears built up in my eyes and quickly wiped them away.

"You could've died Layla and I'm not gonna let you die. I didn't let that happen in 1953 and I'm not gonna let that happen now, you understand me?!"

"You're not leaving me."

The door opened and made me swallow the lump in my throat. "Damon.." Blondie. I got up and turned to Caroline.

"There's someone who wants to see you."

My glare traveled over to Laylas lifeless body and made me sigh. I knew she wasn't gonna wake up any soon, so I followed Caroline downstairs.

"Now.. who is this mysterious guest?"

I asked while pouring some of her favorite Bourbon into a glass. The amber colored liquid left a burning trace in my throat, which was good. It distracted me from the lump I still couldn't get rid of.

"Long time no see Demoun."

My eyes shot up to face him. I vamp speeded him against a wall, my hand tightly wrapped around his neck while the other hand was ready to rip his heart out.
