Damon rushed into the Salvatore mansion with unconscious Layla in his arms. As soon as he entered the living room, they all stared at him with widened eyes. Lorenzo and Bonnie sprung up almost at the same time, to see whos arm was dangling from Damons grip.

The blue eyed vampire walked his final steps towards the red couch to lay his best friend down. It was a mystery to him how he managed to rush her home within ten minutes without actually breaking down completely.

"What- What happened!?"

Stefan yelled in disbelief once he got a look on the girl laying on his sofa. Lorenzo sank down at the brim of the couch and took his sisters hand into his own. He could still feel a soft pulse, so he turned around immediately.

"Klaus! Somebody call Klaus now!"

"He won't be here in time Enzo."

Bonnie stated. Caroline took out her phone anyway and begged the hibrid to speed his "ass" over to Mystic Falls now. While the others were thinking of another solution, getting desparate with every daed end, Layla groaned in pain. Her brother cupped her cheek, full of hope and waited for her to say something.

"Kai.."

She muttered, causing Enzo to frown. He couldn't explain himself why she would think of him now that she was dying?

"Is she hallucinating?"

Caroline asked carefully, but a sigh coming from Damon, caught Enzos attention. Damon knew something he wasn't telling the others and Enzo would get to the bottom of that. He walked over to his former cell mate, grabbing him by his collar.

"Why is she talking about him?! Why does my little sister still think of that bloody-"

Damon pushed Enzo off of him in rage.

"It's my fault okay! He heard that she was back and wanted to see her- I thought he'd help me to get Elena back, but things escalated and Layla ran off-"

Stefan didn't hesitate a second and smashed his fist in Damons face. Even if Enzo and Stefan weren't the bestest of friends, in that moment Enzo was thankful that he wasn't the only one who wanted to beat the crap out of Damon.

"Guys- She didn't say Kai because of that.."

Bonnie mumbled with her arms crossed above her chest. Enzo furrowed his brows again, trying to decipher what his girlfriend meant.

"Kai.. Kai can siphon the bite."

Layla whispered, her voice croaking. Enzo kneeled down next to her, taking his sisters hand into his own with tears flooding his brown eyes. There was nothing he could do to save his little sister this time. He failed her.

"It's been a glorious ride Lorenzo."

She smiled at her brother before her eyes started to roll back. They all exchanged a look of disbelief. Just as Bonnie sank down, gripping on to her scalp in despair, another vampire rushed into the building.

"Klaus- How?"

But the original hybrid didn't care about Caroline. He immediat"ely bit his wrist open while walking towards Layla. He forced her mouth open and let his blood drop into her mouth. Tears were filling his eyes as he did so. The group remained silent, hoping for Layla to magically come back to life, but she did not.

The more time passed, the louder the silence got. It was now an hour later and her body already started to grow grey veins, making Enzo cry into Laylas brown hair. Everyone was devastated. Stefan wa sholding Caroline in his arms, who couldn't stop crying. Bonnie was still gripping on to her scalp, whispering that it was all her fault and Damon was standing in front of the fireplace with a bottle of Bourbon in his hand.
