I was laying on the cold floor, shaking because of how cold it was in that cell. They really wanted me to feel like I've never escaped Augustine, but guess what. I did. I left on my own and didn't look back for seventy years.
The night was rough. My screams and yells for blood sadly didn't touch any of their stupid hearts. I needed blood and not just a shot glass of it. I didn't even know what time it was. It felt like I've spent days here. I just kept count of the times Damon gave me some blood. Three. So I assumed it has been three days since I first woke up.
My enhanced ears noticed steps coming nearer, so I tilted my head from the cold surface to see who was coming for a visit. As the door revealed Kai and Damon, I just sunk back on the floor.
"Get up."
Damons voice made me roll my eyes.
"What do you want?"
I hissed while still laying on the floor and trying to hide my shaking body. They also were so gracious to give me some old clothes, but I refused to put them on. I mean hello, they were Elenas. I might be dead but I surely wouldn't wear those ugly ass jeans of hers.
"Get up Layla."
A sigh of desperation rolled off my lips and I sat upright leaning my back against the wall. Kai stared at me with a serious expression on his face while Damoen seemed to be annoyed than concerned.
"What you little bitch?"
Damon kneeled down to me and grabbed my throat. Probably he was expecting me to gasp for air or struggle in his grip, but I remained as I was and just stared into his eyes, so he eventually let go of me.
"I swear to god- If you don't turn it on again I will put you through hell!"
"Been there already darling."
Just as Damon wanted to attack me, Kai pushed him back by his chest. Stefan appeared behind his brother with Bonnie following him right after. When Bonnie saw how bad my condition was, she immediately pushed her way through Damon and Kai to kneel down to my height. Her glance traveled over my bruised wrists up to my head which still didn't heal, thanks to all the vervain.
"How's your head?"
I looked up at Damon and Kai and shrugged my shoulders.
"Haven't got any complaints yet."
Kai rolled his eyes while Damon just stared at me with an angry expression adorning his sculpted face.
"Layla don't make me do this to you.."
My glare got stuck at Bonnie. So she was the one who was going to put me through hell. I smiled at her and nodded.
"Do it. I can take it Bon Bon."
She looked back at the three men, who all nodded in sync. So Bonnie got back on her feet, stepped a little back and reached out her palm to face me. I took a deep breath an closed my eyes.
"Crucio."
Bonnie spoke the worst spell in order to torture a target. Within a second I got inflicted with an unbearable pain. The spell couldn't be generalized. It was customized for each target to perceive an agony just they could understand. For me, it felt like Augustine. All of the sudden I felt every cut, every little touch of vervain, every surgery that was performed on me, every disease I got injecteted, at once.
"Bonnie stop!"
Damon yelled, but Kai interrupted him. He told Bonnie to continue, so she did was she was told and increased the effect of the spell. I probably looked like I was having a seizure, but it actually was the eye-surgery that they had performed on me fifty years ago. I started screaming for Bonnie to stop, but she didn't.
I suddenly was laying on that metallic surgery desk again, wrists and ankles tied to the desk to make me lay still. But this was new, they used a midevil looking deivce to secure my head and then metallic clips to make my eyes stay open. The "doctor" was handed a sharp scalpel which he sunk down in my right eyeball. To prevent it from healing he immediately dropped vervain on to the fresh cut, causing excruciating screams to leave my throat. Begs for mercy followed right after, but they didn't stop, neither did Bonnie.
"Enough!"
Carolines voice filled my ears and suddenly the pain was all gone. I quickly backed up to the wall like a kitten scared of humans. I used my hands to scan my face for any drops of bloos or cuts, but there was nothing at all. Just that fucked up spell.
When I realized that I wasn't harmed, a loud sob trembled off of my lips, making everyone stare at me in shock. Everyone but Kai.
"Thank god."
Bonnie exhaled in relief and was about to free me from those damn chains but Kai held her back. While Kai was fixated on me, Bonnie stared at him as if he was crazy.
"It's not her."
"What do you mean it's not her? She's obviously crying-"
"It's not her!"
Bonnie ignored Kai and finally freed me from those chains but Kai was still not buying it. He motused Bonnie to the back of the room.
"Leave us alone."
Kai spoke and after he turned down all protests from the others he walked closer to me to grab my chin with his big hand.
"You have to try harder than that, but it was a good one."
"Kai what do you mean?"
My voice sounded hurt and vulnerable, still he didn't believe me.
"See you tomorrow."
"Kai don't leave me please!"
I ran after him but it was too late now. The door was already closed and on top of that, Kai added a sealing spell to prevent the others from letting me out. When I realized what he had just done, I hammered my fist against the metal door.
"No! Please- Why don't you believe me! Kai-"
My voice broke down in one single croak. Tears were running down my cheeks as I slid down the door.
"I love you Kai please.."
