42. || Lake

"Shouldn't we go and help Caroline?" I asked Bonnie while looking at myself in the mirror. Did I gain weight? How was that even possible I was literally sleeping for months!

"Oh no she compelled some students to help."

Grinning at Carolines actions I inspected my body critically. "Red is really your color huh?" I chuckled and nodded. Bonnie looked at my bikini and smiled in amazement. "Well Damon's gonna forgive you real quick with that body."

I threw a pillow in Bonnies face causing her to laugh loudly. "Just shut up!" She tried to hide her laughter but failed bitterly.

Almost two weeks has passed since I left Damon and Kai fighting in the park and after that I avoided both. Kai wasn't even around that much, Damon was the bigger problem. I mean we were living in the same house, but I managed to avoid him for eleven days now. Today on the other hand, I had to face him. There was no escape.

"He shouldn't even forgive me.. I figured that I don't want a relationship at all."

Bonnie rose her brows and packed the last towels in our bag. "Enzo is gonna –"

"I just want to flirt around."

"- Go mad."

Sighing at her words I slipped on a pair of black shorts and a white top. "Enzo should focus on his relationship." Bonnie blushed and looked away. We haven't really talked about her and Enzo. How they became a couple and so on. To be honest I didn't even wanna know.
The fact that my brother fucked my best friend was horror enough.

"Okay I know that alcohol doesn't work fast enough on vampires.."

I turned to Bonnie and furrowed my brows. What was she up to?

"But because of this special day.. I got us these."

She pulled out two joints causing me to burst out laughing like crazy. "Oh Bonnie Bennett I love you." She grinned at me and lid them so we could get high before attending to the party.

"Don't tell your brother."

I giggled at her warning and nodded in agreement. While smoking the joints in my room I decided to have the time of my life today. This was a party for me and I was gonna be the hottest, baddest girl there.

Everything seemed to match with my idea. Enzo was out of town and would come home at night, so there was no one who could lecture me. Damon had Elena, who was practically desperate for his love and Kai wouldn't have the guts to come.

I inhaled the last smoke and threw the filter out of the window, just like Bonnie. We looked at each other and started giggling like crazy. "Fuck your eyes are red as hell." I laughed and Bonnie tried to catch some air between her loud laughter.
"Shit Enzo is gonna kill us."

"He's gonna kill me – you just gonna get fucked."

Bonnie collapsed on the floor from laughing that hard. "You're so damn right–" Scrunching my nose in disgust I chuckled and helped her get up again so that we could go to the lake.

Thanks to our stoned brains it took us almost an hour to find the lake, but once we heard the music and the voices of young, drunk people we knew we were there.

"Finally! What took you so long?"

Caroline asked us with a bossy tone in her voice. Bonnie and I exchanged a glare and then bursted out laughing. "Oh my god – Are you high?!" I placed my pointing finger on my lips. "Shhh don't tell anyone or she's gonna get fucked!" Caroline couldn't help but chuckle a little.

We made our way to the boys, who were already shirtless and some of them even were wet. I didn't realize how hot Tyler was.

"Gentlemen.."

I said and looked in the round. Everyone greeted me back and then I saw him. Kai jogged up to me with just a black pair of shorts on. Oh bloody hell.

"Layla.."

No! No - no no! I placed my hand on his bare chest just to push him aside. There was no way he was lulling me in with his god damn body.
While walking towards the lake I got rid of my top and shorts.

The water was freezing cold but I didn't care. I dived in to get every inch of my body wet so that I could get used to the temperature. When I got up again I directly looked into Damons eyes. He was leaning against the car with beer barrels on it.

He smiled at me and I was about to do the same, but when Kai appeared next to Damon I just rolled my eyes..
