"I hate him!" My hands ripped the sheets off of Damons bed. "I hate him! I hate him! I hate him!" I muttered through my gripped teeth and continued destroying his room. "Motus!" All the books flew out of the shelf and landed everywhere in Damons room. I snatched the dark curtains from their hooks and let sunlight ignite this dark room.

Suddenly a piece of paper caught my eye. This was Damons handwriting..

»I'm gonna get you out of here. Don't be scared. Once we get back to normal I'll be the man you deserve.«

My jaw clenched at his message. He must've left it when we were in Portland. Without even saying "incendia" the paper burnt down in flames.

"As if you ever could be a selfless man."

I recognized Kai standing in the door. Turning to him I crossed my arms and watched him shove jam into his mouth. What's with the jam, god, that's disgusting. I scrunched my nose and watched Kai lick his fingers clean.

"You know that's kinda gross."

Kai grabbed Damons bed sheets and cleaned his hand with them, which made me smirk a little. "What did you mean with „I should've let you died in Augustine" what's Augustine?"

My mouth fell open, but I was paralyzed. I did not expect him to ask me about Augustine. Especially not when I was emotionally unstable like I was in that moment.

"Earth to Layla–?"

He waved his hand in front of my eyes to get me back to reality. I closed my mouth and gulped. "It's nothing." I wanted to walk past him, but his tight grip on my arm prevented me from running away.
"Yeaa no I don't think so honey."

"Kai I'm really not in the mood for–"

"I get that, but destroying his room in another dimension is not gonna satisfy you."

God, I hated when he was right. Kai pulled me over to Damons bed and we both sat down on the naked mattress. "I'm listening." I shook my head and sighed. "It's nothing Kai okay?" I wanted to get up but he pressed me down on the bed.

"Don't be dramatic just tell me."

"I already told you that–!"

"Sit down!"

He, once again, pushed me down on the bed, but this time I was laying on my back and he was hovering over me. He had my hands pinned down next to my head. We both stared with a dominant stare into each others eyes, silently fighting for the control.

"Are you gonna tell me now?"

Kai asked me under his heavy breath. I nodded and he immediately let go of me. We both sat down again and I started to tell him the story he was so curious about.

"Damon, Enzo and I.. We became like the three musketeers, except we went on a blood hunt for over a year. We started in Virginia and made our over the whole country. In the cold winter of 1953 a party was stormed by vampire hunters, but not those supernatural ones.."

-28th December 1953-

"Well Damon, you've won the bet. This place is full of delicious food." I confessed to the blue eyed man, who already had a naughty smirk adorning his lips. "So you've lost the bet ms. St. John." Grinning at his little flirt I nodded. "A true lady honors debts, especially those kind of debts." I placed my hand on his muscular chest and just as we were about to take the next step Lorenzo came to separate us.

"That's enough. Damon let's have a word." I rolled my eyes and took the cigarette pack out of Damons jacket and lid one of the nicotine sticks. "Lorenzo don't you think I'm old enough to–"
