32. || Without me

"Hello sister."

Enzos glare wandered over to Kai, whose hand was still wrapped around me. It took them not long to empty the grill so that we could talk.

"Brother."

I said with a monotone voice and crossed arms. As Kai started chuckling I loosened my stern expression. "That is your brother?" Lorenzo tensed up at Kais words, which made me even prouder of him.

"You got a problem with that?"

"Actually.. I do!"

Kai let go of me and stepped closer to my brother. "How is it possible that your sister is so damn hot and–" I pulled Kai back, stopping him from talking.

"Everything clear!"

Stefan announced and then I felt Enzos tight grip on my wrist pulling me onto a chair. Damon, Caroline, Stefan, Tyler, Bonnie, Elena, Matt. Everyone was here. While Tyler, Matt and Elena watched me from far away, Damon built up in front of me.

"How did you get out?"

I looked hi into his icy eyes and started laughing.
"Wow— See I'm flattered, really, you all came here, but you didn't have to." My eyes traveled to Kai, who was waiting for anything to happen.

"I mean you wanted to let me rot in hell so..."

"Layla Damon told us that–"

I grabbed Caroline by her neck and slammed her onto the table next to me. "Damon Damon Damon! I am so sick of hearing your goddamn name!" My voice sounded annoyed and intimidating at once.
Caroline was trembling under my grip, so I let go of her.

"Layla we tried getting you out.."

Elena Gilbert. For the first time on my side huh?
"But Bonnie lost her magic and Olivia.. She was scared." I scrunched my face. "And it was so hard to find another witch in Mystic Falls?!"
Now everyone looked down at the ground. Everyone but Damon.

"I'm sorry."

Confusion spread on my face when Damon apologized for what he had done. "I'm so sorry Odessa." He walked closer to me. I didn't buy that at all. Damon Salvatore never apologized to anyone.

"Don't be buddy!"

For a second I forgot about Kai, but when he spoke up and got up to me I played along. "The night you left was amazing." My lips twitched into a smirk as the memories of that night flooded over me.

"Wait you two–"

Bonnies face fell into a shocked expression just like everyone else. I loved dropping bombs like this.

"You slept with this man child thing?!"

Enzo yelled at me in a tone I've never heard before. "I didn't want to believe Damon! I thought you were fighting for your live! I thought you were in danger while you were having the time of your life?!"
My jaw clenched at his words.

"If you were so worried about me why did I spent six months there? God just admit that you were happy without me!"

My brothers jaw fell open as I spoke my sentence. "You were happy! All of you! Bonnie and Enzo, after giving up on me how long did it take for you to end up together huh?!"

Everyone was confused about how I could tell that they were together. I had an eye for those kind of things. I always knew when Enzo was in love or had a relationship, no matter how hard he tried to hide it, I always figured out.

"Layla you should calm down."

"Oh Shut up chipmunk hunter!"

Stefan frowned at the nickname I gave him. I knew that I had the potential to find something better than chipmunk hunter, but right now I was just a fire ball rushing down. No idea on whom I'd explode, but it definitely would happen soon.

"Hey I get that you're mad at us but you need to calm down. Now!"

A sarcastic laugh escaped my throat as Caroline told me to calm down. I get that you're mad.
Bullshit.

"Goodbye."

I simply said and headed to the door. I just couldn't do this anymore. Everyone was blaming me, while I just tried to help Bonnie! I had no fault that she was dumb enough to get trapped there! And I surely had no fault for understanding Kai!

"You're not going anywhere."

Damon blocked my way making me sigh and roll my eyes. "Just move Damon." He slightly smiled down to me but shook his head. "Layla I love you but–"

"But what? But you were mad that I didn't kiss you back? But you were mad that I put Kai first?"

"Wait you kissed her?"

Elena stepped out of the shadow she was standing in and moved closer to Damon. Before I could rip her heart out Enzo pulled her back. He knew that I would've attacked her without hesitating.

"I think it's not the right time for that pretty girl."

Kai smirked and leaned against the bar, causing Bonnie to roll her eyes. Caroline held Elena in her arm as if she was hurt deeply. Get over it human.

"I will never forgive you Damon."

The man standing in front of me gulped once I finished my sentence. "I will never forgive any of you." A tear fell out of my. I quickly wiped it away and looked over to Kai.

"Shall we?"

Kai hopped off the bar stool and bowed down to everyone. "It was a .. well - it was pretty terrible meeting you all." His arm wrapped around my waist again and Damon finally moved.

"You're not going with him Layla he's dangerous!"

My eyes started hurting from rolling them that often. Enzo vamp speeded to the door Kai was about to open so that we could finally leave this place.

"He's dangerous?"

Enzo nodded while eyeing Kai carefully.
"What about you?" My brother furrowed his brows.
"What about Damon? What about ripper Stefan?" He understood where I was going with this and slammed his fist against the doorframe.

"It's not the same Odessa, Damon and–!"

"It is Lorenzo! I am so sick of it! You have no right to tell me what to do after being away for seventy years!"

It was dead silent in the bar. No one had the guts to interrupt our brother - sister fight.

"You were gone okay? I took care of myself, now don't tell me what's good for me and what's not."

"If you hadn't left me in Augustine I would've been there for you Layla."
