65. || forgive

"She will kill you- In fact- She will kill all of us if she realizes what you're doing to her!"

Bonnies echoing voice forced me to open my eyes. Even if every cell in my body begged me to just keep laying on this uncomortable surface and close my eyes back again, I used my last strength to get on my knees at least. My blurry sight started to clear out and for the first time in years, actual panic flew into my heart.

These walls, this floor and- I looked to my right, then to my left and felt my breath get caught in my lungs. Massive chains were hanging from the walls, holding each of my hands captive. These bloody bastards.

"Damon!"

My voice was filled with anger and rage, more than I expected. I heard a sigh coming out of Stefans mouth from the other side of my personal cell.

"Damon Salvatore!"

I again, yelled for my former cellmate and this time the heavy door finally opened with a loud squeak. In front of me were standing four men and two women. They all looked at me as if they couldn't decide if I was worth fighting for or not.

"We're not doing this to hurt yo-"

"Cut the crap brother."

Enzo closed his eyes and tilted his head to the ceiling. He knew that bringing me back wouldn't be as easy as the others may have thought. After I turned it off in 1958 it took me fourty years to turn it back on with the help of an original vampire.

"I must admit.. I'm impressed. Recreating my Augustine cell. Who had this wonderful idea?"

A smirk grew on my lips when I looked into Carolines guilt filled eyes. Naww.

"Oh Care I'm flattered. I will definetly get back at you."

With a small wink to my favourite blondie, I got up on my feet. It was way harder than I expected it to be. They were totally exaggerating with the vervain dose. I mean I was already chained up, why the vervain?

"I need blood."

I simply spoke, causing Kai to look up at me for the first time since he entered this cell. One glance into his eyes and I just knew that he didn't tell them. Of course not! How could he? Lorenzo would've ripped him into shreds if he had told him.

"Later."

Damon said with his arms crossed above his muscular chest. A slight chuckle tumbled off my lips and soon turned into loud laughter, leaving every one of my former friends confused. My laugh was cut off immediately, I walked up to Damon as far as these god damn chains let me and whispered;

"Get me some fresh blood or so help me god-"

"What? Do you want to kill me? I'd like to see you try Layla."

Another smirk tugged on my lips as Damon tried to awake the angry side inside of my humanious self. It was such a cheap and pathetic try that it was somehow funny. I turned my head to Kai, who was standing on the very left to Damon.

"You didn't tell them, did you?"

As he remained quiet a giggle escaped my lips and I sat back down on the cold and dirty floor, watching the chaos expand.

"What is she talking about?"

Bonnie demanded Kai to answer, but he couldn't. He couldn't just tell them how he forced this lifestyle back on to me. Enzo now grabbed Kai by his shoulders, slamming him against the beton wall. Ouchie.

"What else did you do to my sister?"

I cleared my throat, causing every pair of eyes to refocus their attention from Kai back to me. With a confident, yet calm expression on my lips I glanced over at Stefan. Just by the look on my face, Stefan understood what was going on and that was the reason why I liked him so much more than Damon. Even if he was practically dead, he still had a functioning brain. The others noticed how uneasy Stefan was getting and forced him to tell them, so he did.

"He broke her."

"What does that mean?"

Damon hissed at his brother, causing Stefan to walk up to Damon with anger burning in his eyes.

"It means she can't control herself anymore. She's a ripper again! Do you understand? It's not just her humanity that's gone- She lost all sense of control and power over her lust!"

And wit these last words that were dedicated to Kai, Stefan disappeared upstairs. Enzo stared at me with a fallen jaw and tears pooling in his eyes as he started to process what Stefans words meant. He was so torn apart, that he didn't even kill Kai, sadly.

Caroline rushed behind Stefan and Damon followed her, so that it was only Bonnie, Kai and my brother left in my cell.

"I owe you one Kai. This is so much better than I could've ever imagined."

Suddenly, my brother wiped the tears out of his eyes and another person was standing in front of me. A resentful person. He walked closer to me, pulling Kai with him. My forehead formed wrinkles at the sudden actions.

"You love him, don't you?"

I huffed, but that was enough for Enzo. He forced his hand into Kais chest, causing Bonnie to gasp in shock.

"Enzo don't-!"

"No! He is the one who can get her back!"

My empty eyes watched Enzo gripping on to Kais heart, but I didn't even flinch. The only thing I cared about was the puddle of blood that was dripping from my brothers fist.

"Turn it on Layla. Turn it on or I swear to god I will kill him-"

"Enzo stop it! We need him!"

I looked at my brother and shook my head. He had to try much harder than that. After Bonnie managed to calm her boyfriend down they both left, leaving me alone with Kai. He couldn't even look me in the eyes for more than five seconds.

"I never thought a child would gnaw on your consience, you know, since you killed four of your own siblings."

Kai kneeled down to me and finally brought up the balls to look at me.

"I didn't turn it on because of this kid Layla.."

He hesitated, but then laid his hand on my cheek. I immediately shifted away from his touch, making him gulp heavily.

"I turned it on because you once told me that no matter what- The thought of harming an innocent child would've never crossed your mind. I knew if you would turn it on someday, and I know you will, you could never forgive me for turning you into this monster."

My heartbeat increased as I listened to Kai. He was making me mad. Probably not his intention, but he was just making everything worse.

"I love you Odessa and I hope that one day, you'll be able to forgive me."

Kai said and before he left, he used his magic to clean up the blood from the floor, causing every colour to disappear off of my face.

"No Kai-!"

He turned his back on me and proceeded to leave me alone.

"Kai!"

"Kai get back here!"

I watched the heavy door close, making me go crazy. I yelled after him as loud as I could, making sure his bloody heart would break at the sound of my excruciating screams.

"You did this to me Kai!"
