As we arrived in front of the massive mansion, I hesitated a bit. Not that I was scared of what was inside, but all this drama earlier today was still not letting my mind ease. I loved my friends and my brother but I also loved Kai. If they couldn't accept that, where was the point of even trying?

"Are you okay?"

I turned to face my concerned looking boyfriend. With a fast nod, I assured him that I was alright, even if I wasn't.

"Layla we don't have to go if you don't want to."

A soft smile appeared on my lips before I pulled Kai into a tight hug. He didn't expect this, but quickly wrapped his arms around my body and sighed in relief.

"I'm alright Kai. We're gonna have a lot of fun tonight and if it gets boring we can leave earlier."

Just as I wanted to pull Kai towards the white door, he held me back by my hand. With furrowed brows I stared at him, not quite understanding what he was up to.

"Layla I know you're sad because you've lost your magic.."

What? Why was he bringing this up now? I mean he wasn't wrong, I was sad. But I've learned to live without it, so it wasn't a big deal anymore.

"So I uh- I got something for you."

Kai dug his hand into his pocket and grabbed out a red box. Was he proposing now? I skeptically glanced from the box up into Kais eyes.
He seemed excited for my reaction and wanted me to finally open it.
Okay, here we go.

I took the red box out of his hand and flipped it open. What was inside made me look at Kai in confusion. It was a necklace with a tiny bottle that was filled with something red. At first I thought it was blood, but the ingredient wasn't liquid.
It looked like red fog.

"Kai what-?"

Before I could even ask my question, Kai took the necklace out and proceeded to put it around my neck. And as soon as the tiny bottle touched my skin, I felt the magic.

"I'm sorry for everything Layla. I took away everything from you and still, you responded by loving me. You are the first person who didn't give me up although I messed up."

My eyes started to tear up at his words. I loved it when he talked to me like that.

"I know this little bottle won't ever be enough to give you your magic back, but it's enough for one spell. Use it thoughtfully."

I sprung into Kais arms, placing my lips in his as a tear escaped my right eye. At that moment the world was in peace for just the seconds of our kiss.
Nothing was on my mind besides the man that was trying so hard to make it up for his mistakes-
The man who was holding his promise of being a better man just for me.

"Let's go inside."

With Kais hand wrapped around my waist we walked into the Mikaelson mansion, which was already filled up to the brim. A lot of couples were slow dancing and some of the guests were just talking and eating and enjoying the atmosphere.

"Oh god this seems boring."

Kai sighed as he laid his eyes on the classy dance the couples were having. I tried to hide my chuckle, unsuccessfully.

"You wouldn't like the 50s then."

"Wait- they all danced like this?"

I nodded to answer his question and make Kai form a gun with his fingers and pull the trigger by his temple.

"That's disgusting. I need a drink."

With a little laugh I shook my head and pulled Kai into the kitchen. He immediately searched for a liquor, but all he could find were champagne glasses presented on the counter for the guests.
