(Heather's POV)
Today is a huge day for me. It's also one of my favorite days of the year, St. Patrick's Day. In England it is kind of a huge deal. We have a lot of Irish people that travel back and forth. I do love celebrating it with my best mates. The band and I have a tradition that we do. Ciara looks at me. "Are you ready for karaoke tonight?" They ask me. They're non-binary so they use they/them pronouns.
I nod. "hell yes. I don't think that I'll be singing though." I state.
"you usually don't." Hugo says, joining the conversation.
"I do sometimes." I state. We go to something called Lucky Karaoke at a local pub that we love. We go there every year.
Charlie smiles. "My Irish heritage is showing today." He says. He's dressed head to toe in green.
Ciara laughs. "You are such a dork." They say.
Hugo grins. "Well we all know the he is. Also I do plan on singing at karaoke tonight."
Charlie grins. "thank you. It's going to be our usual duet." He states.
"yes our usual duet." Hugo agrees.
I smile at my best mates. "Can't wait to hear it." I say, putting on my jacket.
Ciara nods. "I'm ready to head our when you are." they say. The four of us just had a band rehearsal in my flat. Ciara and I do live together because rent is expensive.
The four of us leave my flat and get a spot for the parade because it has a lot of fun activities. Ciara and I go to the parade away to find a good spot to stand at. It's important for us to enjoy it.
"How are you feeling?" I ask. I know that they've been going through a difficult time.
They smile. "I am feeling much better than I was." They answer as we get a spot.
"I know that it has been rough lately." I say.
"Yeah. I can get through it. My best mate is helpful with that." They state.
Hugo and Charlie joins us. "You two alright?" Hugo asks.
"I am more than alright." I answer his question.
Charlie hugs Ciara. "I really hope that you are." He says.
