There's Always Tomorrow

Chapter 13

                                                                                 (Heather's POV) 

     Today is day one of tour. We are starting in New York City. I have been here before during a tour for the 1975. I loved playing here the last time. We really want to check out some of the sights here if we have time. We probably won't have time. 

   We all arrive at the venue to set up for our soundcheck. The venue is beautiful and I am super excited to play here tonight. "This is amazing." Ciara says, drinking their coffee. 

   "It does look amazing. I am super excited to play here tonight." I say, drinking my coffee. Jetlag is kicking our asses. I'm surviving on three cups of coffee already. It's not even halfway through the day yet. 

   Hugo nods. "I'm excited as well." The four of us show security our passes before going to the stage. 

  We start setting up our equipment for soundcheck. The schedule for today is absolutely insane. I love being in a band and all the things that it has brought me. I met my best mates because of the band. I don't want it any other way. We have soundcheck after this then a lunch break. After that we have our VIP meet and greets, dinner, then the show. 

   Jaime comes over. "Everyone doing alright so far?" He asks us. 

   Charlie nods. "I'm doing well. Surviving on coffee. Nervous about tonight's opening show." 

   Jaime smiles. "Good. Need help setting up?" Jaime is both our manager and tour manager. He's also a close mate. 

   I nod. "You can help me with my set up." We have a lot of equipment. Jaime and I work on my set up which includes making sure my guitar is safe. I only have one and it's my baby. Jaime smiles. "I really am glad that you all are finally headlining your own tour." He states. 

   I hug him. "We wouldn't be here without your help." I state. 

   He grins. "You are welcome. I'm proud of you. Time for soundcheck." He says. 

   Hugo, Charlie, Ciara, and I start our soundcheck. We usually just run through the first couple of songs on our set list. It's just to make sure everything runs smoothly tonight. To make sure the sound is perfect. Some of our good mates are opening for us on this tour. 

    After soundcheck the four of us go to a local pizza shop to have lunch. "I heard that you and Charlie have news?" Ciara asks Hugo as we sit down. 

  Hugo nods. "Charlie and I do have news. We are dating. We have been dating for a while." He states. 

   Charlie nods. "Yeah. We've been dating for two months. We wanted to enjoy it for ourselves before telling you both." 

  I smile. "It is about fucking time." I state.
