"I found a mysterious," he pauses, in thought, "mineral of sorts, in a river.". Shadow reveals a small, glowing red stone to Sonic and his friends. Its jagged facets almost give the impression of impending doom. He continues, "I do not know what it is, but it seems powerful." Amy, Sonic and Tails all gasp in astonishment. Sonic replies, "I bet it can help us do some pretty cool stuff, if it's anything like the other gems we know about". Tails adds in, "I think we should be careful. We still don't know what it's capable of." Shadow thinks, "Hmm... Maybe he's right." "Meh.", Sonic comically ignores, with no concerns. Amy rolls her eyes in response. Suddenly, Sonic looks behind him and notices a river with sparkling clear water that has a glowing yellow stone that seems identical to Shadow's. Sonic quickly grabs it. He analyzes, "Hmm, maybe they do something when they come together, kinda like Chaos Emeralds." The stone in Shadow's hands begins to glow and the one in Sonic's begins to glow along with it. Suddenly, the glowing becomes intensely bright! Everyone closes their eyes, shunning away from the blinding light. "Pull away from each other.", Tails instructs. Alarmed, Sonic shouts in reply, "We can't!". The stones pull closer together until they are touching, dragging the hedgehogs with them. The stones suddenly make a huge explosion. Boom! Afterwards, Sonic and Shadow are seen unconscious. "Soniiiiiiiiic!", Tails shouts his name in concern and horror. Amy squeals in shock as she stares at Sonic as he lays on the ground. Tails and Amy both lift him and Shadow away to a place they can recover.
