Shadow hides Sonic behind him, covering himself in the shadows cast by nearby trees. "I wasn't expecting to get a babysitter.", Sonic teases. "Neither was I.", Shadow coldly mutters, while dragging Sonic by the hand.
"—So, what's the mission about anyway?"
"Do you promise to keep it a secret?"
"Sure."
"You see—"
An agent interrupts on a communicator, "Shadow, stay on high alert. Our sensors detected strange energy in this region. You may find the source." "Roger.", Shadow agrees with the command, before ending the communication. "What strange energy?", Sonic inquires.
"Continuing what I was saying, someone has reported strange occurrences in this region, so I came to investigate, but you could've figured that out by now."
"Ah."
"Look, over there."
"Huh?"
A cyan blue aura illuminates the dark, faintly revealing a white hedgehog who is gently hovering. The hedgehog turns around, revealing his yellow eyes to Shadow and Sonic.
"Wait. Is that—" Sonic asks, interrupted.
"Silver?"
