Shadow & Sonic (Full)

Familiar Foe

Sonic is running through a desert, at his full speed, followed from close behind by Shadow. "C'mon, I thought you could keep up.", he teases. Shadow quickens his pace, his skating motion from his hover shoes propelling him further. "That's more like it.", Sonic says, grinning. Sonic slides to a stop, seeing Tails wave a checkered flag at his finish line. "The winner is: Sonic!", Tails declares. "Woohoo!", Sonic cheers. "You were lucky.", Shadow tries to add.

"Yeah, yeah— whatever. Heheh."

"Ohoho!", a familiar fiend cackles, before saying sarcastically, "It's so nice of you to go where right I want you." "Eggman!", Sonic acknowledges, "—Come to congratulate me on my victory?", he asks playfully. "No, this is about to become your failure!", Eggman answers, beginning to fire missiles at him. Sonic dodges, but soon realizing they were a distraction from the real threat. "Look behind you.", Shadow points out, noticing Metal Sonic about to attack from behind.

Sonic dodges Metal Sonic, "Thanks, Shadz!"

"You're welcome. ...Don't call me that."

"Noted."

Meanwhile, Tails disconnects Eggman's remote from his missile-launchers. Eggman attempts to open fire again, when he realizes nothing is releasing, "What? No!" "Nice try, Egghead.", Sonic remarks. "Good job, buddy!", he congratulates Tails. "D'oh, that's it!", Eggman replies, angered, "You'll have to take on Metal Sonic!" Sonic fakes a yawn, side-stepping to dodge its in-coming metal blades as it tries to claw him. Sonic turns around, spin-dashing the metallic menace. They go head-to-head. Eventually, Sonic manages to destroy it. "Good job, Sonic.", Shadow says, lovingly thinking, "I knew you could do it."

"Thanks, Shadow."

"That's it!", Eggman begins, in outrage, interrupting Shadow's reply, "Mark my words, I'll get you one day." Eggman flies away on his Eggmobile, planning to scheme away for a far greater threat.
