"Sonic, please wake up.", Tails pleads.
"Huh?", Sonic finally answers him, soon noticing Shadow, who gazes with his concerned crimson eyes. "What happened, and what's that beeping noise?", Sonic asks, now fully awake. "You're in the hospital.", Tails replies.
"What?!"
"Sonic, calm down. You're safe."
"Okay." He takes a deep breath. "...so, is anybody gonna tell me why I'm here?", Sonic questions.
The room grows silent.
"You made a hibernation attempt in your sleep.", Shadow sadly finally answers.
"Oh."
"Are you feeling okay?", Tails asks. "I'm fine, buddy.", he answers, reassuring him. Sonic turns his head to Shadow, "Can you fill me in more?" "The blizzard wiped out half the building. When I escaped with you, I noticed you had hypothermia, so I had to take you to the hospital right away.", Shadow details. "I see.", Sonic assesses. "Most of your presents were destroyed. I truly apologize that I didn't grab them all in time.", Shadow says, looking down. "Hey, it's fine.", Sonic accepts.
"The doctor should see you shortly.", a nurse says, peeking into the room. "Okay.", Sonic replies.
