Suddenly, a large creature rises out of the water. "Is that what I think it is?", Sonic wonders out loud. "Sweet Chaos—", Shadow mutters.
"I think it is Chaos."
"Something's not right. I don't sense Chaos energy in it."
"Huh?"
"What is it then? Do you think maybe it came from the Phantom Ruby?"
"It was destroyed during the war against Eggman's forces, remember?"
"Yeah. Maybe it's from something like the Phantom Ruby then."
"Hmm."
"Well, what're waiting around for? Let's stop it before it starts trouble."
"Wait. We don't know what we're even facing."
"Is someone scared?"
"Where'd you get that idea?"
"Heh."
"Let's search for the Chaos Emeralds so we can properly defeat this thing, whatever it is."
"Right."
