"Admit it, Shadow. Something terrible must have become of him.", Shadow thinks, feeling defeated, "This always happens to me. Just as I begin to care again, just as I begin to find someone special— she was always taken from me, now he." "Don't give up, Shadow! You said it yourself, it's likely he got kidnapped or something. You said it yourself, it's likely he got kidnapped or something, meaning there's a chance he's still alive.", Vector cuts through his thoughts.
"Yes. You're right."
After a few hours of searching the area, Shadow calls in a G.U.N. agent, who soon uses sonar technology to detect underwater structures.
Meanwhile, Sonic paces back and forth, locked in a glass cage. "How do I get out of here?", he ponders, "I woke up here a few days ago, but I can't get out because, if I do, I'm likely to drown, since this place is surrounded by water on all sides. The worst part about all of this is, my friends don't know I'm down here, so how can someone else save me? Oh man, Tails is probably worried, too." "Ohoho! This is what you get, you pest.", Eggman taunts, "Make yourself comfortable, because I don't plan on letting you go— ever!" Sonic looks at his captor with an annoyed visage, tapping his foot.
Suddenly, a large explosion is heard from outside. "Woah!", Sonic exclaims, while trying to keep balance. "What was that?", Eggman asks, alarmed. "Don't ask me.", Sonic replies, shrugging. Eggman runs to check his security systems. He finds a red hover shoe kicking the outdoor views out of commission. "What? Shadow—!", he notices. Before he can order a defense, Shadow drops into the building and skates his way down the hallway. He keeps moving at full speed, before knocking down the door of the containment area.
