"Hi, Shadow! What took you so long?", Sonic playfully greets him. "We don't have time to talk. Let's hurry, before this place floods.", Shadow responds, remembering how he forced his entrance into the underwater base.
"—Floods!? Heheh. Well, you don't have to tell me twice."
The sirens begin blaring, signaling the pending destruction as one of the systems detects rising water. Shadow takes Sonic by the hand, beginning to make his exit, "Chaos Control!"
Shadow completing the teleportation, the hedgehogs arrive at the shore. "That was quick.", Vector comments. "Yay, Sonic's okay!", Charmy says, hugging him. "Yeah, I'm alright!", Sonic agrees. Espio nods to Sonic as a greeting, smiling. "I forgot to thank you.", Sonic tells Shadow, giving a thumbs-up in appreciation. "It's not a problem, really.", Shadow answers.
Sonic hugs him. "I know, Big Bro."
"I can't give up on you again."
Suddenly, a loud roar is heard from the distance. "What was that noise?", Espio asks.
