It has been a few days and Shadow can visit Sonic again, but he has more important matters: he has to confront an old foe who now threatens to destroy the planet if its inhabitants do not surrender to Eggman's will. Shadow decides to call his friend: "You reached the voicemail box of...". "I will have to fight this alone.", he accepts.
Black Doom approaches him. "Shadow," he greets him, continuing, "join me in my conquest and I will make you rule the world. Then, I will go on to rule this whole galaxy, devouring everything I want, but this planet will be all yours for the taking!" "How many times will you try? My answer is no.", Shadow responds.
"I see how it is."
"Do you?", Shadow scolds, walking away.
"Stop."
Shadow stops stepping forward. "What?"
"I made you. I will not be disrespected. Now you do as I say."
"I will fight for what I think is right, no matter what you say.", Shadow finally yells.
Shadow steps forward again, not looking back. "It appears we are once again enemies.", Black Doom acknowledges, firing a Chaos Spear at Shadow. Shadow fights back, "If it's going to be this way, let's make this quick and easy." Shadow draws out a gun. Black Doom creates an illusion he is Maria as he is struck. "No!", Shadow cries.
