As Shadow and Sonic start to sing, a certain silver-spiked hedgehog watches. "...so, they're the ones who wrote the song. Who would've thought?", Silver thinks, now perching himself on Shadow's balcony, listening.
Shadow places his hands above the piano keys, ready to repeat back the song Sonic showed him, and begins, "Watching the world go by". Sonic chimes in, "Chasing the butterflies".
"Life is full of open doors"
"You've gotta take time to explore"
"Would you believe your eyes"
"If you saw me cry?"
"Some things can't be explained"
"That's why you gotta follow the rules"
"Of the game"
"Of the ga-a-a-ame"
Hearing Sonic angelically carry the last notes, Silver feels tears forming in his eyes. He smiles, wiping his tears, before teleporting away. Shadow, sensing a disturbance in Chaos energy, peers outside the window. Sonic follows him with his head, catching the last glimpse of light, now seeing the only lights outside are now coming from the buildings surrounding them and from the sky above as the night settles in.
