Dear Diary,

Now we're on our way to Rome! Just left our hotel now and we're on the bus. Tomorrow is the last day in Italy. Then day after tomorrow, we are heading back home. I'm excited to go home see everyone and share stories, I am not looking forward to the plane ride home. For the plane ride, we're doing 2 hours going to Rome to Frankford, then going from Frankford to Canada then back to the city airport. Its going to be a long day and I'm not looking forward for it. But whatever, hopefully I can sleep for the most of it.

Anyway! Let me tell you about my day yesterday! Overall it was pretty uneventful, if I'm being honest. I'll still explain what happened. Yesterday morning we left Jeslo (then that was during the time I was writing) and we drove to Assisi. That took probably around 5-6 hours. We left our hotel at around 8:30am and got there around 2pm. The small town of Assisi is very religious based. A lot of the stores have little cross necklaces or things regarding religion. I was thinking about getting my mom something religious because she is religious, but I didn't. Looking back I should have.

So we checked out a lot of churches yesterday too (three to be specific). Unfortunately, I couldn't take pictures of the inside because I wasn't allowed to. I got pictures of the outside. The second church we went to had a room where sit down and pray. I sat down in one of the benches and prayed. I prayed to God for him to give me love, wealth, happiness, and a beautiful life. I asked for safety and for guidance. During my time of prayer, I felt calm and it was like all of my stress and worries were pushed away. Whether my prayer was listened to, I don't know. I sure hope so. Guess I'll find out.

Again, I ended up getting gelato (I am seriously going to be thirty pounds heavier when I got home!). This time for flavors, I got Oreo and Rocher. The taste wasn't that bad, could've been better. I also got a video of Katie going around a carousal that we all found earlier. I didn't go on it. It is really funny to be honest. She thought he horse would go up and down and it didn't. So as it went around, she sat there, not smiling and totally unhappy that her house didn't go up and down like the others. I had a good laugh.

After that, we ended up having free time. So we all wandered Assisi. Once our free time was done and when we saw all the churches, we decided to head back to the hotel to get ready for supper. Last night we were allowed to dress fancier. So I wore my gold and black striped pants and my gold sweater. I thought I looked good. The supper in the hotel was so we didn't have far to walk. But when all the girls were in the lobby of the hotel, a group of Italian guys walked past and whistled at all of us. For supper, we had another three course meal. We had pasta as our first course, then some kind of meat and potatoes for the second course, then cake for dessert. Overall, it was pretty good.
As we were eating, we were in the same room as a group of Italians. When one of our girls walked to Mr. Francis to ask him a question, one (or a few, I wasn't watching) of the Italian guy(s) clearly checked out her ass. God damn, are all guys like this? After supper, Mr. Francis said that he was going for a walk and anyone who wanted to come with should meet him downstairs in 15 minutes. Samantha, Katie and I all said we'd go. Originally our plan was to go get gelato. I just went for the walk, I didn't bring my money. As we got closer to the gelato place, we came up to a church. It was one of the churches that we visited earlier in the day. Once we got the gelato, we headed over to the church where they were doing a performance. These performances were called Passion Plays. They are religious based and tell stories of the bible. When we arrived, they were there at the most perfect timing and at the most iconic scene in the Bible. It was amazing to see. Whenever they had music, for example, they would have real people sing. As we were walking, there was a monk playing the guitar and singing. He sounded amazing! It reminded me of an opera singer of some kind. Once we finished watching, we went back to the hotel and we a went to bed shortly after.
I'm going to go to bed. Goodnight!

Sarah
