Dear Diary,

Hello, for some weird reason I have no clue where to start. I saw that the last time I wrote was July 13th, 2015. Two days after the house fire happened. Plenty of things happened since then. It has been around six months since I wrote something.

To continue on with this story of ours, after the fire happened, we fought heavily with the insurance. Such a surprise, right? If I remember correctly, I think it took a full month to get just the food out then two months to get the furniture out of the house. Approximately a week or two after the fire, we figured out what is going to happen with where we will be living. Halfway through August, we moved into a rental house in a neighborhood in town. We will be renting this house until our other home is done and we can move into the newly built house.

I'm not lying, everything that we got back and that the insurance salvaged all fit into one trailer. And all the boxes fit in a small garage. Actually it filled half of the garage. Later, when the insurance was able to give us some of our belongings, I was hoping they brought some things from my room. But I barely got any of my things. It was too badly damaged. I got a few things back but certainly not as much as I would like.

Moving forward to the first day of grade ten. By time I got home from school, Jaclyn and I noticed that a lot of people asked me about the house fire and one person asked her. Did I seem like the stronger person to talk to? Maybe.

Around half way through September and October, we finally got the house tore down. It was hard to watch; no other explanation needed.

On the positive note, around a month ago, we started rebuilding the new house. So far, the basement foundation is done. I just can't wait to go back home. The thing is that I might be nervous because I will know the past history that happened on this property.

So far, that is the major things happening.

Merry Christmas.

Sarah
