32. Ash's Reborn Story

Chapter 7 Peridot Gym Battle

Before heading to the gym, Ash goes into a house and finds two Team Meteor Grunts who are trying to rob a woman's house. So they chase them until they are at the house.

Ash: There you are, leave that woman alone! (Pikachu agrees by sparking his cheeks)

Meteor Grunt Audrey: ...What? You found us after all?

Meteor Grunt Geoff: Is that so... Then I'm afraid you'll just have to be eliminated.

Meteor Grunts: This is an attack, so brace for impact. To eliminate this infestation. To restore the art of God's own nation! To break apart the world above! To find what lies beneath truth and love! Audrey! And Geoff! Team Meteor! Resonating with the eternal light! Run away now, don't try to fight! For justice! That's right!

Ash and Pikachu groan again, why are these people remind him so much of Jessie and James from Team Rocket, but it is a good thing that they can't come into the region because of the lockdown, or else Ash and Pikachu will be greatly annoyed. After defeating both of them, who use Duskull and Cubone, they quickly retreat and leave them alone.

Woman: Thank you so much for saving my precious Pokémon! I don't know what I would have done...But what if they come back? They'll definitely come back... I couldn't bear for my precious baby to fall into the hands of thugs like them! I know! You! Please keep it safe and eliminate those people! Will you? You saved it once, I'm sure I can trust you to watch over it!

Ash nods as he accepts the Igglybuff so that he can bring her to safety.

And then they notice a doctor treating a patient, but a hotshot just stole the medicine from the patient so that he can make money from it. So Ash is asked to help him chase after the hotshot. After defeating him, he surrenders the medicine and Ash returns it back to the patient.

Doctor: Our culprit forfeited the stolen goods after all. I understand that was your work. It was acceptably done. You have both my gratitude, and that of our last remaining patient. Along with it, is an introduction. You may call me Corey. It is regrettable- the circumstances that required us to gather here to treat the injured. To reduce the influx, while allowing departure... To disrupt a necessary supply chain...To remove a lynchpin in the fabric of the city... How many excuses will be used to justify a tragedy which claimed the lives of so many, I wonder? (Turns right) Incidentally, you were also on that train, were you not? And yet here you are, standing on the other side of the service line. Do continue to carry yourself with respect. There is much that will require decisive action and a strong presence of will in the coming days. Until next we meet.

Ash and Pikachu are both confused about the man in front of them, but they didn't say anything as they head to the gym. There, they notice a telecom beside them. Just when it turns on, they see Ame on the screen.

Ame: Ash? Hey there! So I see you've made it to the Gym.

Ash: Ame? Is that really you?

Ame: This telecom system connects right to the Grand Hall, so no matter where you are, whenever you get to a Gym, you can call in for advice! Anyway... This is your first Gym Battle in Reborn, right? Reborn's Gym Leaders are a little tougher than other regions'. For instance, every leader has a full team of six Pokémon! Not only that, but they also use special arenas, or Fields, for tactical advantages. If you want to survive in Reborn, you should get used to learning about and playing in these Fields! You may even find ways to turn some opponents' arenas against them!
