Before leaving for Agate City, Ash gets to 7th Street and finds a woman that needs an Oddishweed, and after giving it to her, she gives Ash the egg in return. When he finally arrives at the checkpoint, Cain is still trying to wake up the guards.
Cain: Heyyyy. These guys are still conked out for whatever reason. You think something happened?
Ash: I just hope that it is not another PULSE.
Cain: If we go past here, there's no telling what could happen. It may even be a long time before we can come back. You sure you're ready?
Ash nods, and Cain just sends out his Nidoking.
Cain: All right, Nidoking! Knock knock, open up the door, we're here!
It uses Strength to break open the gate, much to Ash and Pikachu's surprise.
Cain: I mean... that works, I guess. I guess we're really taking the 'gate' out of Agate~ C'mon~
When Ash and Cain rush to Agate City, they are confused as the city is very quiet.
Ash: It's quiet... Too quiet.
Cain: (Walks further with Ash) Okayyy, what's going on here? Helloooo? Anyone there?
Ash: (After no reply for Cain) Mm, dead-silent...Typically that's not a good sign.
Cain: (Notices two figures sleeping on the ground) Huh? Wait a second... Is that... No way! Aya! What are you doing all the way up here?
Ash: (Looks closer at another figure) And that's Hardy, the Rock Leader...
Cain: (Shakes his sleeping sister) Heyyyy, Aya, wake up! Answer me! ...Aya? Why are you sleeping in the middle of the street? Dork.
Ash: Not only the guards, but they are also falling asleep as well...
Cain: I dunno. I'm not gonna just leave her here, but... I kinda feel tired myself.
For some reason, both Ash and Pikachu are feeling sleepy all of a sudden.
Cain: I think I'll just take a nap and wait for her to wake up.
Just before they can close their eyes, they hear a strange noise from the distance.
Cain: Uh... Hey, do you hear something?
?: RAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWRRR! DIAMOND DYNAMOOOO!
Just then, a girl with rainbow-colored hair is holding a giant mallet, and it charges at both Ash and Cain. Both of them widen their eyes as they quickly jump out of the way.
Cain: (Shocked) WOAHHH!
?: (Notices the two on the ground) Uh. Whups.
Cain: That was way too close! What do you think you're doing?!
?: WHAT AM I DOING? WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! ...this saturday night babeh, id like to take you out, knowwhatimean nudge nudge wink wink.
Cain: Usually people ask that before they try to pound me, not after.
Ash: Oh my god, Cain...this is no time for jokes...(Notices how the girl just puts the giant mallet into the pocket) Hold on, what did you just do with that giant mallet?
?: ya wanna find out? ;)
Cain: (Starts to look around the girl) Like really, what, where could that POSSIBLY have gone?!
