32. Ash's Reborn Story

Chapter 62 Iolia Valley Gym Battle

Before heading further into the cave, Ash finds a telecom and decides to ask Ame about Luna.

Ame: Ash? Hey! I see you're coming in from Iolia Valley. Believe me, getting this telecom to work all the way out there was not easy. Luna loves to fight in her Dark Crystal Cavern. The gems there warp light energy and make it behave in odd ways. In those caves, most of her darkness-based attacks will be stronger, but that's not all. Because of the crystals, light attacks will be stronger too! See if you have any that you can use against her. If all else fails, there is a way to break the dark energy. All you need is a source of unlimited light. That should be enough of a clue, right? Good luck!

Ash nods as he uses the Crystal Key to get into another part of the cave, where Luna is waiting for him.

Luna: He has left, right?

Ash: Yeah, it is just us.

Luna: (Nods) Very well. Let us try this once more. Welcome, Ash. I am glad you were able to reach me here. Children, and even some adults, are scared of the darkness. Why is that, I wonder? Is it because they think that awful and sinister things come here to dwell? There are too many of those in the light for that to be true. Or perhaps they are simply afraid of their own imaginations. Darkness is that which draws out the greatest potential, but for some, infinity can be a terrifying abyss. Please, allow me to introduce you to an infinity, lost. Scattered and fractured, it shall return piece by piece. Are you ready?

Ash nods as Luna sends out her first Pokemon, a Bisharp named Carpenter. Ash goes for Hitmontop for this Pokemon. Bisharp goes for Stealth Rock, setting up the field, but Hitmontop starts to spin around and lands a Rolling Kick, which is super effective against the Dark and Steel Type Pokemon like Bisharp. Then Bisharp goes for Sucker Punch before Hitmontop lands a Counter attack, much to Luna's surprise as Bisharp faints.

Luna: Jubjub Bird, please show me through the darkness. (Sends out Honchkrow)

Honchkrow appears on the field and it goes for Brave Bird, dealing itself some damage before knocking out the Hitmontop. Ash's second Pokemon is Ampharos, with the Crystal Cavern's help, the Power Gem is boosted and it deals a lot of damage. But Honchkrow goes for Roost, which causes its health to recover. Ampharos goes for Signal Beam, causing it to get confused, and then finishes with Discharge.

Luna: Bandersnatch, please show me through the darkness. (Sends out Tyranitar)

Ash gulps as Tyranitar already goes for Sand Stream ability, and it goes for Brick Break and Stone Edge, knocking out Ampharos in the end. Ash decides to go with Shiinotic, using Strength Sap to recover the HP after being hit by Iron Head, and then it goes for Sleep Powder to make Tyranitar fall asleep. Once the Sandstorm is gone, it goes for Energy Ball, eventually knocking out the Tyranitar.

Luna: I guess I have lost half of my team already. White Rabbit, please show me through the darkness. (Sends out Absol)

Absol goes for Swords Dance, and then it goes for Play Rough to knock out Shiinotic. Ash decides to go with Hawlucha, dodging the Play Rough, it goes for High Jump Kick, crashing into Absol, causing it to be in pain. Then it defeats the Pokemon with a Flying Press, much to Luna's surprise.

The fifth Pokemon is a Weavile named Knave of hearts and it goes for Ice Shard, and with Hawlucha missing the High Jump Kick, Hawlucha is out of the battle. Ash goes for Heracross, even though it gets Poison Jabbed to get poisoned, it uses Megahorn and Brick Break to knock it out.

Luna: Oh? Perhaps I've lost my way after all. How wonderful! Go! Cheshire!

The final Pokemon is Umbreon, and it goes for Double Team to use Dark Pulse, Heracross takes a lot of damage, and with the Poison, it is defeated. Ash's final Pokemon is Pikachu, and it gets poisoned after Umbreon goes with Toxic. After hitting Umbreon with Thunderbolt, it uses Moonblast to recover. It is until Umbreon is paralyzed that Pikachu can finish it off with Signal Beam.
