Ash and Shelly are now back at Ametrine Mountain, and they are trying to find the diving spot. Shelly decides to wait for Ash at the ice, so Ash heads back to Celestine Mountain to go to the diving spot.

While searching for an entrance, Ash finds a Field Note for Snowy Mountain.

Ash: So that block of ice really is the PULSE! So if we want that ice to disappear...I have to kill the Avalugg...
After getting back to Ametrine Mountain, Ash decides to find another diving spot, and this time he manages to get inside Avalugg's body. Ash notices the Avalugg roaring in pain, and he decides to destroy the Pokemon. But the machine is on haywire, and Avalugg keeps using Earthquake and Recover to defeat Bisharp, Tyrantrum, Infernape, and Hammer Arm on Empoleon.
Ash: How am I supposed to beat this Pokemon...
Just then, behind Ash, he can feel the bubbles, as he turns around, a figure jumps out of the water and goes for Water Shuriken, the attack causes Avalugg to roar in pain until it is defeated.
Ash: What the...(Turns around and sees Greninja) Greninja, is that you?
Greninja walks towards Ash as they share a hug, Ash can't believe even Greninja is here in Reborn.
Ash: What are you doing here?
?: We came with Serena's help.
Ash also notices that Squishy and Z2 are also with him.
Ash: Squishy? Z2? You're here as well? But what about the vines?
Z2: The vines are not a bigger problem compared to Reborn Region.
