Chapter 27 Rock Smashing

Ash and the others are now at the Underground Railway, Cain is leaning on the wall watching how Charlotte is typing something on the monitor, Anna is talking to Noel, and Shelly is trying to get Heather to talk but in vain. As for Ash, he just finishes the call with his mother and capture some Pokemon in the area.

Ash's New Capture in Underground Railnet: Mawile, Skorupi (Cave)

Ash: It seems like Dr. Connal and the other orderlies have escaped from the orphanage. But fortunately, the other kids inside are taken to another orphanage where the doctor there won't give them ECT.

Cain: Guess that's the good thing since that Doctor Butt won't have any more authority over them. Though I would want to see him getting arrested...

Ash: Charlotte, so where are we going?

Charlotte: This tunnel runs underneath the city, and it comes out right in the Chrysolia Region. And it just so happens, that's where my sisters live now. We can lay low there until things cool down. (Slams on the monitor) I just need this stupid thing... to turn on already!

Cain: What's it for, anyway?

Shelly: Um, I- I think I know...Why it's not turning on? If my guess is right, this is probably...This is probably the basement of the old Yureyu Building...I read that they used to use it to import resources via the rail, so they had it run right through their HQ. They used to be the economic center of Reborn, but um, then... Then earthquakes happened, and they were hit so hard they had to close. They also managed the city's electricity at the time...So that went down, too...And then the entire city shut down until the renaissance of the League...Right?

Charlotte: ...And?

Noel: (Sighs) So then it won't open because it's connected to the old power plant, rather than the current operating one.

Anna: Old power plant? Wait a second! That's where Mr. Shadow lives! I bet if someone went up there and asked him to turn it back on, he would!

Shelly: W-wait, you mean Shade? We just saw him earlier too...He'd r-really listen to us...?

Anna: Who knows! He's secretly super nice, though! It's a secret, so don't tell anyone!

Noel: You've never spoken to him. How would you know whether he's nice or not?

Anna: I just do! Hey, he's also a Reborn Gym Leader!

Ash knows where this is going, Anna has turned her head towards Ash.

Anna: Ash! Ash! Ash! You should go up to the old Power Plant and ask Mr. Shadow to turn it back on and then fight him!

Cain: Ohhh, that's the place across Beryl Bridge, right?

Anna: I'll have Nostra tell him to unlock the door, so go quickly, okay~?

Charlotte: You're really gonna go have Ash fight some guy in hopes that he'll be able to turn the power on here? (Thinks for a second) Sure, why not? Better than any idea I have. We'll probably be fine waiting here. Go get 'em, chief.

Ash sighs as he leaves the Underground Railnet, he has to go back to the Beryl Ward, which is pretty far away from here. After getting back, he notices a shadow on top of a building's roof. When he goes to a rooftop, he finds Corey standing in front of him before jumping off the building.

Ash: Are my eyes deceiving me? I thought Corey is dead?

After chasing "Corey", they corner him in an abandoned house in North Obsidia Ward, and it turns out to be a Zorua in disguise. So Ash decides to capture the Pokemon in the end.
