Chapter 28 Power Plant Gym Battle

After getting inside the Power Plant, Ash can only see darkness and nothing else.

Ash: This place sure is dark...Pikachu, can you try to do something in here?

Pikachu uses its tail to glow a little, and Ash can see the whole power plant a little. There are four doors that are blocking in front of them, and they also notice a telecom and turn it on.

Ame: Ash? Ah, you're going to fight Shade... Okay. He's at the old Abandoned Power Plant, right? If nothing's changed, it's probably super dark up there.

Ash: Don't worry, Pikachu is helping me light up the place a little.

Ame: Shade uses that darkness to strengthen his Ghost-type attacks, but you can take a similar strategy! The machinery up there is on the fritz, and the rampant energy can give your Electric attacks an extra spark! ...Or they could short it out. Either way... But, if you can find a way to get that machinery back online during the battle, the lights should come on too! That way, you can get rid of his shadow-based strength, and get a reliable boost to your Electric and Steel attacks yourself! Good luck!

Ash: Thanks Ame. (Tries to turn off the telecom, but Ame stops him)

Ame: Actually, on the matter of Shade, I spoke to him and realized that I owe you an apology. That train that you first came into the region on...Apparently, I'm the entire reason that it was targeted. It's thanks to him that I was able to save you in time, but you would never have been in danger if it weren't for me. I'm sorry for that...I would like to say that it'll be taken care of in full, but I've also been asked not to- Er, actually, this doesn't matter. Apologies; good luck with your challenge.

Ash: Don't worry about it, Ame. You've done more than enough apology for both Mom and me. (Ends the call and turns to Pikachu) Looks like I'm going to need your help in this battle, buddy.

Pikachu nods as they decide to turn right, finding the buttons to open the gate in the middle. On the way, he also captures some Ghost Type and Electric Type Pokemon for his team.

Ash's New Capture in Yureyu Power Plant: Duskull, Togedemaru, Voltorb, Yamask (Cave)

When Ash pushes the first button on the monitor, the lights suddenly turn on and Ash looks up into the screen. It shows Corey falling from the bridge and to his doom, when he's out of sight, the light also turns off again.

Ash: What the...Pikachu, did you see that?

Pikachu shakes his head as he didn't see anything, and Ash thinks that his mind is playing tricks and he starts to feel a little sick. Pikachu looks at Ash with concern.

Ash: Don't worry, Pikachu. I'm fine.

As they walk to the right and head up to find the second button, Ash presses it again, and this time, it shows the green-haired girl.

Ash: (Thinks) That's the one who knocks Heather out in the Rhodochrine Jungle! The one with the Hydreigon...

And much to his horror, grey lights appear around her body, and then the right arm fell off, followed by her head from her neck, the upper half of the body, and the lower half. No blood comes out from it, and Ash feels like he is about to vomit after seeing the scene.

Ash: Good thing this is the dead-end...so there are two on the right...does that mean I have to see two more on the left? (Remembers Arceus' words) So this is what Arceus means by this won't be the only death I'm taking part of it...
