Chapter 45 Serra Voclain

When they get inside the house, Ash is a little confused as he is asked to sit on the sofa.

Serra: Ash, right? Can I ask how is your mother doing?

Ash: Um...my mother is fine. Why do you ask? Do you perhaps know her?

Serra: (Happy to learn that Delia is fine) Zina is my elder sister. I guess that makes me your aunt, I assume.

Ash and Bennett are surprised to hear the revelation, Ash didn't know that his mother had a sister, and Bennett didn't know the truth as the person in front of him is actually his cousin.

Ash: Is that true? You and my Mom are sisters?

Serra: (Sighs) I can't believe she never told you about her family. But then again, it has been years since I thought she...well, dead.

Ash frowns as he wants to ask Delia about it, however, he notices the telecom at the entrance.

Ash: My mom is now at the Grand Hall. Maybe I can ask her about this.

Ash walks towards the Telecom and calls Ame.

Ame: Ash? So you're at Serra's estate? Right. Serra Voclain was once a famous model, so she's all about beauty and reflections. Her Gym mirrors this- literally. Serra loves to play games with her mirrors, increasing Evasion, lowering Accuracy, and even performing critical attacks from hidden places. In the Mirror Arena, changes to Evasion and Accuracy affect the frequency of critical hits. Be careful not to take a surprise attack, but if you can boost your own stats, you'll be at an advantage too! Besides that, consider using beam and light-based attacks! These moves can be reflected by the mirrors, and will always hit! Other light-based moves will be stronger too, including her signature Aurora Veil. The Defense boost is a lot to fight through, but I have faith you can breakthrough! Good luck!

Ash: Ame, is my mom with you right now? Can she answer the phone?

Ame: She is with me. Why?

Delia: (Hears Ash's voice) Ash? Ame, is Ash wanting to talk to me?

Ame: Yeah, from Serra's estate.

Delia flinches as she can't believe that Ash is already at Serra's place. Delia answers the call and sees Ash.

Delia: Ash? You're challenging my sister's gym?

Ash: So Aunt Serra is really her sister! I mean, she would like to talk to you.

When Serra walks toward Delia, she gasps as she can't believe her sister is alive. Delia sighs as it has been a while since she met Serra as well, and Delia decides to tell her that she will be coming to her place soon. While waiting for Delia, Serra sits on the sofa with Bennett by her side.

Serra: So Ash, you were hoping to reach the PokéMart? That's unfortunate. Buildings appearing on top of my house is not something that's really in my skillset to solve on short notice. As I'm quite sure you've noticed, really strange things have been happening in this town the past few days. Honestly, all we can do might be to hope that it decides to reappear somewhere better. As it is, you're welcome to stay here until the situation changes.

Ash: Thank you, Aunt Serra.

After a while, Delia arrives at the mansion, and both Delia and Serra share a sibling hug. When Serra asks what happened to them, Delia tells her how Team Meteor had tried to kill both of them and how they were revived, and they are also relieved to learn that they are alive in the Kanto Region.
