Someone actually caught me. I regained consciousness when I fell into the arm's of Lemuel. I sighed in relief of not falling, clutching my chest and holding my belly in place.

I looked up to a worried and confused Lemuel. "Babe are you okay?"

I let out air. "I'm fine, just overwhelmed. That's all." I shrugged and regained composure on my feet.

Nancy opened up the door and the whole of my family walked in with their entourage.

The piece that the instruments was making melted my heart. They had played my favourite song by Ed Shareen and now they were playing 'just the way you Are' by Bruno Mars.

"Oh my God!" I gushed, covering my mouth with my hand. I was fighting my tears, holding it back. I didn't want to cry and ruin my make up.

Then they started to present their gifts one after the other. Jason first.

He gave me a warm hug and handed me the two flowers. I sniffed in the rose flower and I smiled at the dollar flower.

I was astonished. "Oh my God! Oh God!" I sniffled. It was coming, water works.

"Thank you so much, thank you." A tear dropped. "I missed you, I missed you so much."

He pulled me into another warm hug. "It's okay, I'm here now. I promise to be the best brother in everyway that I can."

"Thank you." We pulled away and he wiped my tears.

Next was Mabel. She held a gift bag in her hand and I saw one of the maids drop a money cake on the gift table. It was five steps.

"Five steps?" I tried to sound funny. My voice was still breaking recovering from all the crying.

"Don't mind me I could have done better." She hissed at herself, then she came closer and gave me a hug.

"Congratulations baby girl. Happy baby shower to our baby." Then she pulled away and took a quick glance.

"This place is money, is this going to be your gender reveal party?"

I was taken aback. "Kind of." I shrugged, that wasn't really part of the plan.

Mabel and Jason went to take their seats.

So next was my mom and dad.

"Good evening dad. Good evening mom." I greeted. I was African and respect is principle.

"Thank you, thank you for coming." I let my tears pour out.

They both hugged me at the same time.
I felt safe in their arms, no more fears, no more bitterness just peace and love.

My mom kept kissing my cheek holding my neck in place. "Oh daline!" She wiped her eyes with her napkin. I thought I was the only one getting emotional.

"You've grown so big. You're going to be a mother." Those words registered.

I let all my waterworks out, all of it.

"Thanks mom." She kissed my cheek one last time before pulling away from the hug. I saw her give Lemuel who was by my side a quick hug before she headed to the seat that was reserved for family.

So it was just me and my dad hugging now.

He gave me that signature kiss. Be kissed his index finger and middle finger and then placed it on my lips.

He hasn't done that in eighteen years since I was five. He used to do it whenever he was leaving, a sign to show that he had me in his mind and was coming back home for me.
