Marshall Lee POV:

I take a deep breath in an attempt to gather myself. My fingers slide over the cool metal ring in my pocket, and I look up at Gumball.

"I know I wasn't that great a boyfriend." I swallow hard. "But do you think I would be a better husband?" I pull out the ring and hold it between my index finger and thumb. It is a simple silver ring with a small black dot on the top. I want to look away, but I keep my gaze on Gumball. I don't know what to expect. I don't know how he'll react. I don't know whether he'll be happy, or shocked, or if he'll think I'm crazy. In the back of my mind i keep thinking that I did it too soon, too soon after everything that happened. But I couldn't wait any longer. I couldn't let him slip away again. I couldn't let myself slip away.

Gumball's eyes widen as he registers what is actually happening. But he doesn't say anything, he just stares at the ring. His mouth opens slowly but then closes again. He takes a deep breath and then speaks in a quiet voice.

"I think you would." A weight lifts from my chest and I just stare at him.

He slowly lifts his hand towards me, and I gently take hold of it. His hand is shaking ever so slightly. Mine is too. I can't believe what is happening. I carefully bring the ring down and slip it onto his finger. Gumball smiles at me, pulling his hand back to examine the ring. I step forward and curl my arms around his neck. I feel his breath on my cheeks as I connect his lips to mine. I feel his arms wrapping around my waist and I let my legs float up. The moment is so perfect. I just want it to go on and on.

Its Gumball who pulls away, but I still hold him close to me.

"This place..." He mumbles into my ear.

"Not a coincidence." I whisper back, smiling.
