It was just before the end of the school day and Luna had a free period. Usually she spends the time in the library studying to get started on homework, but today she wasn't going to the library. She was heading out of the school to the fields.

One thing that threw her off about todays earlier encounter was the feelings she had for Eddie. They were best friends but Luna had always liked him. She was twelve years old, she shrugged it off as some crush. Today just reminded her that she had just suppressed those feelings over the years. That was one of the reasons why she was pissed off about them not talking - closure.

Luna walked to the bleachers and sighed. She looked around the field where the football team trained, the soccer team practiced and where the cheerleaders did their routines. They more or less just pranced about distracting the teams.

Looking up the long rows of seats, up at the very top she spotted Eddie sitting. Some things don't change.

She began to make her way up and noticed he was laid back across the seats, catching the little sun that Portland had for the day and season. Dark sunglasses covered up his eyes so it was obvious he wasn't going to see her approaching and with the shouting from the field, he wouldn't hear her either.

As she got closer she noticed he had earphones hanging from his ears as his head slowly moved to a steady beat.

Taking a breath in she then yanked an earphone from his ear and sat down beside him. He jumped up slightly before he sighed and a smile grew across his face.

"Well well, what an honor being in your presence Miss Martin." He smirked as he laid his head back down again.

"Are you skipping class?" Luna asked him.

"Me? Never. I'm taking some recollection time. It's rather peaceful out here, despite the Neanderthals and the prancing pom pom pixies." He nodded.

Luna snorted as she let out a laugh.

"Yeah, they kinda are like pixies." She sighed. "So what are you thinking about?" She asked him, realizing she still had his earphone bud in her hand. Eddie was silent for a few seconds before he sat up and pushed his sunglasses up onto his head. His brown eyes piercing into hers.

"Are you skipping class? Portland High's greatest future alumni?" He gasped dramatically.

Luna stared at him as her expression hardened. "You're so funny Eddie." She then threw the earbud from her hand as it hit off of his jacket. He began to laugh, which made her smile a little.

"I've got a free period." She stated.

"And yet here you are, using that precious time looking for me and...talking to me?" He put a hand onto his chest. When Luna sat in silence staring at him, he sighed and dropped his act.

"No, I've got a free period too. I'm actually surprised I have them, that the school trusts me enough." He swallowed and looked out onto the field.

"Our very own menace to society." Luna widened her eyes. After a brief moment of the two of them sitting in silence Luna sighed. "I was...surprised you came over at lunch." She told him.

"Like I said. You invited me." He smiled as he looked back at her. "Could always tell with your eyes." He pointed at her before sitting back. "Pretty cool I still recognize that after all this time."

Luna frowned at him as she shook her head. "I'll tell you what I told you then, I do not have a look." She told him.

"Well that is pretty awkward, because I can vouch there is. The thought process that goes on behind those...pretty eyes." He grinned.

Luna began to feel her face get hotter as she tried to laugh his comment off. Eddie smiled to himself as he dropped his eyes to the ground, his face getting a little red too.

"Anyway. I just wanted to know what's really going on with Kyle, because he isn't telling me shit." Luna shrugged.

Eddie looked at her and shrugged. "I told you. I said hey to them once and that's been it. They have been looking at me and the guys pretty funny though in the hallways. Like...I've bitten the head off of a bat." He told her.

Luna snorted again.

"I just assumed...well a lot of people talk in this school. A lot of bullshit is made up, maybe him and his friends are just afraid." He shrugged a little disheartened.

"Scared of you? Oh come on, who's scared of you? Unless you really did eat a bats head." Luna joked.

Eddie laughed as he shook his head. "Actually no that was Ozzy, I will not take that limelight." The both of them laughed together.

"Seriously though...I grew up with Eddie Munson." Luna quietly spoke up.

"He grew up." Eddie turned to her and sighed.

Luna sat staring at him for a moment. This was the chance to actually try and reconnect.

"Okay, then let me get to know this grown up Eddie." She nodded. Eddie turned to her and smirked before shaking his head.

"We're going out for some food after school. There is an invitation with your name on it...you and your friends." Luna smiled.

"I'll ask them." Eddie nodded.
