"I can't believe you wouldn't let me stay out?" Kyle huffed as he got out Luna's car and slammed the door.
"I am sick and tired of your attitude Kyle, we are going to sort this!" Luna followed him closing over her own door and locking the car.
"You forbid me. Forbid me?! Do you know how stupid that sounds?!" Kyle shouted as he stomped up the stairs to the porch.
"I don't care - "
" - It's embarrassing! In front of my friends..." He butted in as Luna unlocked the front door. He pushed himself into the hallway and threw his backpack into the living room, with it making a thud against the flooring.
"Do you want to know what is embarrassing? Your attitude Kyle! Shouting your mouth off in my car the whole ride home and then outside in the neighborhood!" Luna gritted her teeth as she pointed at him.
"I don't give a fuck what the neighbors think! I'm not putting up with being spoke to like a child!" Kyle threw himself down onto the sofa.
Luna threw her keys onto the small coffee table and huffed. "You still are a child, technically." She folded over her arms.
"I'm fifteen!" Kyle screeched, his voice cracking slightly.
"Well fucking act like it then! You want to be treated like an adult? Act like one and stop with these childish strops! No one is benefiting from them, it's ridiculous." Luna sighed.
Kyle sat up straight and sneered a little as he laughed. "Oh? Act like you? When you were fifteen? Oh no wait, you weren't even a freshman in high school when you were out all hours." He frowned.
"What? What the fuck?" Luna shrugged.
"You and him! You were glued at the hip. What is he even doing sniffing around again? I thought he was gone out of your life." Kyle folded his arms.
"Eddie?! What is your problem with him?"
"I saw you! I saw you today, all over each other at the car. I see you at lunch time, him with his hands all over you!" Kyle spat.
Luna stood staring at her brother. She didn't know what to say anymore.
"Do you think I'm stupid or just blind? Because I see shit Luna, I see everything."
"What do you want me to say?" Luna asked.
"Why did you let him back into you life?" He asked.
Someone then knocked at the front door and Luna widened her eyes. She tutted as she dropped her arms and headed out into the hallway and opened up the front door. Eddie stood leaning against the door frame looking out into the street before he turned and looked at her.
"Hey." He smiled.
"Oh here he is. Man of the hour." Kyle walked down the hallway clapping his hands together.
Eddie stood up straight and walked into the house as he brushed past Luna and frowned. "Y'know kid, I get the sense I'm not your favorite person right now." He looked between Luna and her brother.
"Heh, you're far from it. Dude." Kyle mocked widening his eyes.
"Kyle please!" Luna pleaded as she rolled her eyes.
"No! Why should I stand here and take shit from him? Him of all people! You've got some nerve coming around here and having dinner and all that shit. Like nothing happened, like you didn't disappear out of our lives for nearly five years!" Kyle shouted as he directed his anger towards Eddie.
Eddie took his jacket off and sat it on the little unit that sat in Luna's hallway. He slid his sleeves up from his shirt and sighed. "Okay, I really think we all need to talk." He nodded.
"I'm not talking to you." Kyle shook his head as he screwed his face up.
"No, you're shouting at me right now dude." Eddie widened his eyes.
"I can't believe you've just let him back into your life. After all this time, Luna. He's probably loving it. Don't be so stupid!"
"Hey! Woah, don't speak to your sister that way! That girl loves the bones of you, and that's how you speak to her?!" Eddie frowned as he pointed towards Kyle.
"Shut up, I know all about you." Kyle scoffed.
"Look, I don't know what you hear at that school but - " Eddie began as he held his hands up innocently to try and defuse the tension.
Kyle furiously shook his head. "This isn't about school. It's about you! Shithead! I don't need to listen to anyone's opinion about you because I know you're an asshole anyway!" He began to walk towards Eddie whilst pointing.
"What is your problem dude?!" Eddie held Kyle back with the shoulders as he turned his head to Luna in shock.
"You! You're my fucking problem!" Kyle then pushed Eddie. "You practically lived here all of the time, the two of you were inseparable. You were like this cooler older brother I never had, someone who understood all of the games I loved and actually helped me. We had summers together, Christmas's and even Thanksgiving. Then you stopped showing up as much, then you were gone." Kyle told them.
"You think I didn't notice any of that shit because I was just a kid. I understood everything. I bet you don't even know she cried her eyes out for you some nights." Kyle looked at Luna who widened her eyes.
Eddie turned to her with worried eyes.
"Those nights I used to hear you crying and then the next morning you just told mom you were having trouble sleeping. Blaming it on the freshman nerves. When mom and dad used to bring up Eddie, you'd say the two of you were too busy with different classes and homework. Then when you and mom were alone you'd tell her how much you missed him. It was all bullshit. Your whole freshmen year was miserable Luna! I saw you. I was actually excited to start school, because I thought I'd be able to see you guys. Then I noticed it in the halls, between classes and during lunch. How you practically avoided each other."
Eddie took a step towards Kyle and nodded. "I've never purposely avoided your sister Kyle, or you. Things happened okay? We got inside our own heads. I love your sister, don't blame her - "
" - I don't blame her. I blame you, I blame you!" Kyle then shouted, his voice cracking.
"You didn't just leave her behind, you left me too. Then you just show up and act all smug as if nothing has happened over these past four years." He sighed with defeat."Kyle I am so sorry, but I didn't mean any of it. I've missed you guys so much." Eddie pleaded.
Kyle shook his head as he took a couple of steps back. "You're bullshit." He quietly told him before he glanced at Luna and then he turned around and ran upstairs before he slammed his bedroom door.
Luna and Eddie both stood in silence, shocked and feeling quite sick.
