Me And The Freaks

Eighteen.

Arcade.

Luna, Kat and the boys entered the arcade later on that evening. The smell of popcorn, confectionary and sugar filled their nostrils. Beeping and alarms from all the different games and machines buzzed all around them.

"Well guys...enjoy your...game?" Luna grinned as she sighed.

"We better get over there." Kyle nodded at her.

"Yeah! Sure, on you go. Good luck!" She grinned at him as he gave her a half smile before he wandered off.

"Oh Wyatt?!" She called out before sighing. He turned around and smiled at her. 

"Hey uh...I'm at my wits end to be honest. I just want to know, do you know what's going on with Kyle?" She asked hopeful.

Wyatt looked around the arcade and sighed. "It's Eddie." He admitted, his lisp poking through his braces.

"What?" Luna widened her eyes as Kat stared him down. "You guys do realize Eddie and his friends aren't...killers or whatever people say about them." Kat told him.

Wyatt nodded. "I trust your opinion on him one hundred percent!" He told them as he nodded rather sophisticated as if he was much older than what he really was.
"He seems like a cool guy, they all do. Truth is, I don't know why or how. I just know who. Elliot and I tried prying but he kicks off." He then shrugged.

The girls looked at each other as Luna sighed. "Can I ask? Did you know Eddie before?" Wyatt then asked.

Luna nodded and smiled a little. "You probably don't remember because you and Elliot weren't around as much when Eddie and I hung out. You guys had your thing and we had ours. We've known each other since the 5th grade." Luna admitted.

Wyatt nodded and smiled. "I kinda remember the dude, he used to be over at your house sometimes. His hair wasn't as long though and he seemed more...not scary?" He chuckled nervously. 

"He's not at all. He's a puppy dog." Luna smiled. 

"Hey Wyatt! Come on!" Elliot and Kyle shouted on him. 

"You better go. Thank you." Luna told him. He nodded and turned around before he stopped and looked at Luna again. "I won't say anything." He then told her before he continued to walk away.

"I told you!" Luna turned to Kat and rubbed her hand over her forehead.

"Just chill, ask him what his problem is." Kat told her.

"It's not that easy, I have." Luna shook her head. 

The girls looked up at the front doors as Eddie, Patrick and Nathan arrived. The three of them walked in, long hair, dark clothing and leather jackets. 

"Okay, I can kind of see where Wyatt is coming from." Kat then admitted.

"Awesome." Luna's face dropped as she shook her head. "Just fucking perfect." She looked at Luna who had wide eyes.

"Hello!" Patrick bellowed out as they walked up to the girls.

"Hey you okay?" Eddie asked Luna as he waked towards her with outstretched arms. He then wrapped his arms around her neck and held her tight.

"Yeah. I'm...fine." She lied as she sat her hands on his triceps. 

"You sure?" He looked at her, his eyes rather intense.

"You were right. It is you. I don't know why or how." Luna quickly told him as Eddie nodded. "Okay" He told her so very placid. 

Kyle, Wyatt and Elliot walked back over to the three of them as Elliot was ranting.

"What happened?" Kat asked them as she stuck her hands into the back of her jean pockets.

Wyatt sighed as he shrugged. "Apparently we needed four for the tournament. Not three." He rolled his eyes. 

"What are you doing here?" Kyle immediately asked, his eyes on Eddie.

Everyone fell silent.

"Nice to see you too bud." He scoffed as he looked at Luna. "Apparently I'm here to help." He then took of his jacket off and handed it over to Luna.

"What?!" The three boys gasped. Two more optimistic than one. 

"Yes! This is awesome!" Wyatt beamed as Kyle nudged him quite hard.
"No! It's not. He doesn't even know what to do." He told them.

"Try me, how hard can it be? Now where are we going?" Eddie sniffed as he readjusted his rings and smiled.

Luna and Kat exchanged a look. "You know how good Eddie is at fantasy games." Luna told Kyle. Kyle rolled his eyes before nodding. "Fine." He simply said. Wyatt and Elliot both yelped before they were pulling him away.

"Wow, that was easy." Kat laughed to herself.
