Luna looked around Eddie's almost empty room. It consisted of his bed, a small dresser with a mirror. Clothes almost took up most of the space he had left. A small radio sat on his dresser and there were old posters of bands. Ranging from Def Leppard to Metallica, Black Sabbath and even W.A.S.P.
She noticed some papers scattered on the dresser. The logo looked familiar until she realized it was from Portland Community College. Alongside the papers were essays and scribbled out work.
On a small section above his bed where no posters covered the wall, pictures of them both were pinned up. As Luna got closer she noticed it was polaroid photographs of them both from over the years. Photo booth photos of them. Luna remembered Eddie's mom had an old camera from her youth that still worked great. She used to take photos all the time, especially of the two of them.
"I come baring some apple juice!" Eddie came running into the room holding a couple cartons. Luna turned to him and smiled before he sighed and looked around his room.
"Shit. Sorry, this is embarrassing." He sighed as he instantly dropped the juice boxes on the bed and started to pick up pieces of clothing.
"Forget about it. Some things never change." Luna giggled as she took a shirt from him. She then eyed it up and instantly put it on a small pile in the corner before sighing. Eddie took off his jacket and threw it on his bed before sitting down.
"Can I ask? The college papers, how are you getting on?" She asked as she sat down beside him.
Eddie smirked at her as he shook his head. "Nothing gets past you." He sighed. "They are not. It was stupid to even think they could...there's no way I'm going to college." He shrugged.
" Eddie, you can't think that - "
" - Do you know how much tuition is?" He asked.
"Why haven't you applied for scholarships? I've even done that for..." She trailed off.
"New York City. The big apple." Eddie told her quietly. "Some things never change." He chuckled. "I really want to see you succeed Luna, you're brain is...crazy talented. All those stories you used to write." He grinned.
Luna smiled at him. "Thank you."
There was a short silence.
"My academic history won't qualify for scholarships. The only above average I've got is art class...woodshop and fucking cooking class. Cooking! All because my teacher is probably high most of the time." Eddie sighed. "I'll be surprised if I even graduate."
"Mr Bauman's always been that way." Luna laughed.
"Pretty sure he's the one giving Nathan edibles." Eddie joked which made them both burst into laughter.
"Oh gosh." Luna rubbed her eyes as she shook her head. She then sighed as she thought for a moment. "Have you got a portfolio?" She asked and watched as Eddie frowned.
"Um...what of?" He asked.
"Of your work! You used to draw like crazy, you must have your work around." She began to scan over his room. Eddie stood up and walked over to his dresser and pulled open a drawer before bringing out a black folder with stickers all over it. The same one he had since he was fourteen. Papers were escaping from it.
He then sat back and opened it up as he glanced over at Luna.
"Oh my god..." Luna's eyes widened. "How new are these?" She asked as she started flicking threw the comic like drawings.
"A couple weeks..." Eddie mumbled.
"You were awesome Eddie but these are amazing! Look how much you've gotten better with technique and everything." She told him as he sniggered a little. She looked at him with stern eyes.
