Seventeen.

Friday.

"Are you coming to the arcade tonight?" Luna asked Kat as they walked down the corridor.

"Hmm...do I have too?" She asked and watched as Luna frowned.

"It's just going to be me. The kids are wanting to do some game thing...I don't want to wander about alone." Luna sighed.

"Chill, chill I'll be there. Why don't you ask Eddie?" Kat then cooed.

"Please after the embarrassment of the other night, I don't want Kyle to actually go ape shit." Luna sighed as she shook her head.

Kat frowned as she thought. "I love that little dweeb, but his attitude lately has just been a grade A asshole." She admitted. Luna shook her head as she didn't want to make it obvious how much she agreed with Kat.

They got to their lockers and sighed. "Or maybe Mitch could come along with...Patrick?" Kat grinned.

Luna began to laugh as she turned to her friend. "Ah I see. Don't suppose you have a thing for him?" She asked.

"No! Not all all." Kat protested as Luna raised an eyebrow.

"Besides what about Nathan? If you fuck off with Pat, and Eddie and I..." Luna trailed off as Kat grinned menacingly.
"No please! Continue that sentence. You and Eddie doing what? Fucking off and..." She mocked. "The two of you totally have the hots for each other. It's pretty unbearable sometimes with the atmosphere." Kat nodded.

"Stop it, Kat. We're friends. Close friends." Luna nodded as she began to put her combination into her locker.

"Yes. Very close friends...the two of you will be hooking up in no time." She cackled.

"Ew! Kat, look we've been friends...we're not going to hook up! I cannot picture him..." Luna trailed off as she stared at the metal door in front of her before shaking her head.

"Oh my god!" Kat gripped onto her arm and laughed. "You totally just pictured Eddie naked!" She told her.

"Kathleen!" Luna groaned as her cheeks burned.

"Do you think he's got tattoos hidden somewhere? or a badass scar?" Kat asked and watched as Luna frowned at her. "Okay, I'll chill." She took a step back as Luna opened her locker and a small folded up piece of paper flew at her.

' Didn't see you this morning. See you at lunch princess x '

"What the fuck?" Kat peered over Luna's shoulder as she quickly scrunched it up. "Leaving notes in your locker, calling you pet names...yeah you two are totally platonic." Kat pushed Luna a little.

"Kat we were best friends, he doesn't have feelings for me." Luna turned to her rather disheartened. Kat sighed as she gave her a reassuring look as she rested a hand onto her shoulder.

"I'm not just saying this. There is something else going on in that head of his, because there is no way...he thinks of you as just a friend. That is way too close for comfort." Kat smiled. "Come on, lets go to lunch." 

Luna closed over her locker before they headed down the hallway to the canteen. Once they got inside they looked around and sighed. They collected some lunch and stood at the end of the lunch line.

"Oop would you look at that." Kat nudged Luna making her turn around. Up the back of the canteen she could see Nathan, Eddie and Patrick. Patrick had stood up and was waving towards them, inviting them over. Luna locked eyes with Eddie as he winked at her.

She quickly turned around and gripped onto her tray.

"Shit shit!" She repeated.

"What?!" Kat looked at her rather worried.

"Okay I'm freaking out. Kat I don't know how to act around him now, I was so oblivious for years that I didn't even care. Now every time I see him or he talks to me it's like...my brain doesn't actually listen. I end up just staring at him unaware of what's going on."

Kat giggled to herself. "Hey, you're going to rock this. You are amazing and fearless and you - Luna Martin get what you want. If you want Eddie Munson..." Kat turned Luna around by her shoulders as they looked up at the guys table again. 

"...Go get him." She whispered.

"Ohhhh fuck it!" Luna whispered to herself. She nodded before they headed up to the table where they sat. Eddie sat at the top of the table like always, as if he was superior. He quickly stood up however when the girls approached. 

"Milady." He mocked as he offered the seat next to him. Luna smiled as she sat down and sighed. She turned and looked up to see Patrick helping Kat with her folder and tray. "Aw why thank you. Such a gentleman." She commented before giggling. 

Nathan chuckled to himself as he shook his head. "Yeah don't mind us, chopped liver." He joked before looking at Eddie. He then widened his eyes. "Oh right, that's just me." He sighed.

"Afternoon Nathanial, how are you today?" Kat then loudly asked him with a smile which made Luna and Eddie laugh.

"You okay?" Eddie then asked Luna quietly as he munched on what it looked like, chocolate covered almonds.

Luna looked at him and nodded. "I'm fine. How are you?" She asked.

"Yeah, still sizzling out from Kyle's attitude but y'know." He nodded.

"Oh I know, again I'm so sorry - " 

" - Don't apologize. You have no need too. Is he still...?" He asked.

Luna sighed as she shrugged. "He seemed okay this morning. I haven't seen him since though, he hasn't really been sitting with Kat and I at lunch anymore." She admitted.

Eddie nodded as he crunched his food. "Since you've been sitting with us?" He asked.

Luna stared at him as she realized. 

"Told you." He nodded. 

"No, why would he..." Luna began.

"I don't know, like I said. People talk, maybe he's gotten this image in his head of this person I am and he doesn't want to see you hurt. You're his sister." Eddie told her.

"Then he would do something about it, like forbid me to see you." She joked before shaking her head. "He wouldn't just strop around. Maybe it's time to ask the boys, I know them. They can't lie, they'll tell me." She sighed.

"Hey Luna? What time is that thing tonight?" Kat called across the table to her.

"What thing? Oh! Um, I think around six." She nodded as everyone stared at her.

"So ya'll welcome to come along!" Kat then grinned.

"What is it?" Eddie spoke up.

"Kyle and the boys have this thing. A tournament for some game? I don't know, they've been helping out at that arcade since I can remember..." Luna started.

"Oh my god yeah, I remember." Eddie chuckled.

Luna stared at him as she smiled. "Would you want to come along?" She asked him.

"Hell yeah, I'd love too!" He grinned.
