Twenty four.

Luna and Eddie had been sitting in silence in Luna's living room for what it felt like hours. 

"Well. Looks like we finally understand why he was so angry...and it's definitely not a girl." Eddie joked, as he laughed quietly before he cleared his throat and sighed.

Luna looked at him and smiled weakly before nodding. "I'm so sorry, I've never seen him kick off like that." She told him.

"Don't apologize. He's right, Luna. The past four years have been such a weird time, I personally think anyway. I shouldn't have just stopped seeing you, he's just a kid..." Eddie held his head in his hands.

"Hey you're not to blame. The two of us need to share blame, if anyone has to take it." Luna looked at him and sighed.

"God, I feel like this is how my parents felt." He tried to joke as he looked up. 

"Don't do that." Luna warned him as she shook her head with a smile.
"Do you want something to drink?" She then asked as she stood up.

"I meant what I said Luna." Eddie spoke, making her stop and turn at the living room door.

"Your mom and dad - " 

" - No, not about that." He shook his head. "Come here for a moment please." He then held out his hand.

Luna stared at him as she walked back over to the sofa and sat down as she took Eddie's hands and smiled when he gave his usual reassuring squeeze.

"It's my turn to get serious." He nodded as he looked at her. "When I told Kyle I love you. I was being serious."

"I know that..." Luna quietly told him.

"No, I've...I've been in love with you since I was twelve years old Luna." He sighed. "Since that day we met. We clicked and we became best friends and I was so scared because I had these feelings that I didn't understand. I think that's why it felt...safer when we stopped talking as much over the years." 

Luna stared at him, frozen. 

"My mom knew it. She always knew..." He then smiled as he looked down at their hands.
"I am so sorry for everything over the past couple of years. I am sorry for anything I've done that's made you feel like shit and cry? Oh my god, Luna...when Kyle - "

His words got choked up in his throat before he swallowed.

"Hey. You're here now." Luna pulled on his hands and smiled. 

"I've missed you so much. The past few weeks have been fucking incredible, and today! Today, when you told me you liked me. Twelve year old me literally got a boner." He half joked. 

Luna burst out laughing as Eddie began to chuckle. 

"Okay seriously, that's disgusting I'm sorry. In all seriousness though, you were right about us needing to talk. We need to get everything out in the open." He nodded and took a breath.

Luna stared at him as she smiled. She raised a hand and squeezed his chin a little.
"I think we just have." She admitted. "Eddie Munson, my childhood best friend and biggest crush just told me he had feelings for me too." She quietly told him.

"Has feelings." Eddie stared at her. "You're literally the light of my life." He told her. 

"What you said? Earlier today, at the bleachers? What was it?" She asked him.

Eddie thought for a moment before his cheeks blushed a little as he chuckled. "I said...that I wanted to kiss you." He nodded. 

"Kiss the fuck out of me." She corrected him with a smirk. "What are you waiting for?" 

Eddie gasped slightly as he scanned over Luna's face. He then lifted his hands and sat them on her cheeks before he softly ran his thumbs over her skin. Finally they both leaned in and their lips grazed together.

After a moment Eddie wrapped an arm around Luna's neck as he pulled her closer, deepening the kiss. 

They eventually pulled away after a few minutes, both of them just as shocked. 

"Okay wow." Luna giggled.

"Holy fucking shit." Eddie chuckled.

Luna ran her thumb lightly across his bottom lip as she smiled. 

"We really need to get on top of the situation with Kyle though." She told him serious. 

"Yeah, we need to do that." He looked at her and nodded. "But first, give me a cuddle?" He asked and giggled as Luna embraced him. 

"Awwww" He took in a deep breath as he laid back onto the sofa and held onto Luna tightly.
