End of summer.
"How can you drink cinnamon in your coffee?" Eddie asked as he stood next to Luna in the line of the Starbucks they were in.
"Because it's nice. You used to always love my moms Christmas cookies...with cinnamon so don't give me shit." She giggled. "Besides, you have no right to judge me." As she pointed to him and the can of monster energy he was drinking.
He glanced at the can before swallowing and smiling. "It's zero sugar." He nodded.
"As if that makes a difference. You said you'd quit it over summer, yet here we are." She eyed him up as her coffee order arrived. She thanked the barista before they exited the small shop and began to walk across the airport.
"Also, could you cut down on your new habit?" She smirked at him before taking a sip from her coffee. She shook her head, her newly fresh haircut and bangs swished around in loose curls.
"I literally only smoked a few times when we didn't have any weed!" Eddie laughed as he nudged her. He then grabbed her and held her tight as he left a sloppy kiss on her lips. The sweet taste of sugar - ironically - from the drink and a linger of nicotine from their car journey.
"Just be careful." She told him as he sighed.
"I promise." He mocked a little as he held a hand up. He then smiled as he nodded before he leaned in, giving her a soft peck. He then began to walk away from her as she stood staring.
It was a warm day, yet he was still dressed all in black. His ripped jeans, converse and a holey band shirt. His hair was more frizzy with the humidity as he refused to keep it in the loose bun Luna done for him prior the trip. He had chains with his keys attached from his belt to pocket, that dangled around as he walked.
He turned around and glanced over to Luna as they had distanced themselves quite a bit.
"You coming?" He called over as he held out his hand with a smile.
Luna exited her trance as she walked towards him and took his hand, as he intertwined their fingers. She placed a kiss on his shoulder before resting her chin on it as she sighed. They walked over to the gate where Luna would be boarding soon before sitting down.
"How were you parents? and Kyle?" He asked her.
"Usual. Well, my mom was emotional. My dad was hiding it, and Kyle...he gave me a fist bump before grabbing me for a hug - bless him. You'll watch out for him for me right?" Luna turned to him and smiled.
"Of course. The little dude will be sick of me being around now." He chuckled. "I'll keep an eye on him and his buddies. Don't want them joining the basketball team or anything." He joked with wide eyes as they both began to laugh.
"Your parents should've came along..." He told told her.
"It's fine. They were fine with you driving me." Luna nodded.
"Yeah, not as if we've not seen each other all summer..." He chuckled nervously, as Luna bit her lip. "Think you've spent more time at my place, than your own home." He leaned forward as grazed a kiss on her neck.
"I wasn't complaining." She smiled. "Except your air conditioning is shit." She gasped out which made Eddie laugh.
"It is pretty shit." He nodded in agreement as he sat his hand softly around her neck, at her décolletage. He slowly ran his thumb across her skin.
"At least at thanksgiving it won't be as warm." Luna smiled at him before sipping more coffee. "Even though I do like the sunshine..."
"It was always your favorite time of year. Summer going into fall. You only enjoyed winter because of Christmas." Eddie told her with a warm smile.
