"I still can't believe he's going to your place. That's if he even turns up though." Kat told Luna as they both waited outside in the school parking lot.

Luna turned to her with wide eyes.

"I mean...you know what I mean. He was a no show the other day." Kat shrugged as she turned away from Luna.

"Keep digging yourself a bigger hole there Kathleen." Luna sighed as she leaned against her car.

"I don't mean too! I just don't want to see you hurt." Kat sat her hand onto Luna's shoulder and gave her a reassuring smile.

Luna nodded and patted her hand. "I very much appreciate that as always. If I'm being completely honest though, I've been rather hurt over these past few years." She admitted.

"Oh." Kat sighed as she grabbed her in for a hug. "Hey, your secret is safe with me." She then looked at Luna and winked.

Luna frowned as she looked at her. "What are you talking about?"

"Oh come on...I mean I understand how you were friends but...I mean it's obvious you have feelings for him." Kat grinned like a Cheshire cat. Luna hated when she did that.

"I don't...I just - " Luna began to stutter.

"Luna it's fine! Seriously, I just want you to be happy. Like I've always told you, I don't know the guy. You hear some pretty fucked up shit around this school about people, but you're one of the greatest people I've ever met and I believe you and your history with him." Kat nodded.

Luna sighed a little of relief and nodded. "Thank you." She then hugged Kat again.

"Oop! Here they come." Kat called out as Luna spotted Kyle and his friends heading over to them. Luna cleared her throat and nodded.

"Um, maybe don't tell Kyle." She told her.

"You do realize the little dweeb lives in your home?" Kat joked and giggled before stopping once she saw Luna's face.

"I know, but once they get in and bury their faces in video games they pretty much miss everything going on around them. I just don't want to have to deal with the stroppy bullshit today. Again." Luna sighed.

Kat gave her a glance and a smile as she nodded.

"Hello great wizards! Ready to head home?" Kat greeted them as she opened the passenger side door to Luna's car. The boys all stopped and stared at her.

"Y'know from Harry Potter? Or something?" She shrugged.

"Or something." Kyle mocked as he laughed.

"Awesome." Wyatt grinned in awe at Kat.

"Thank you! Least my efforts are being appreciated." Kat tutted as they all got into the car.

Luna glanced into the mirror to the backseat and sighed as she drove out of school.
"So how was everyone's day?" She asked.

"I actually had quite a good day!" Kat chirped as she pulled down the mirror above her head and checked herself out a little.

"Kyle?" Luna asked as she glanced back into the mirror.

"Just a typical day." He shrugged and mumbled. Luna sighed as she shook her head. "That doesn't really answer my question but okay."

"I got an B in French class! That was pretty cool!" Wyatt beamed. Luna smiled to herself as she nodded.

"Well done squirt." She laughed.

"Of course you got a B! You don't get anything below that for any class." Elliot mocked him a little.

"Tu es juste jaloux!" Wyatt called out.

"I don't even like jello..." Elliot screwed up his face. Kat burst out laughing which made Luna giggle. "Okay, I didn't even get average in French but that was great! Well done Wyatt." She congratulated him as he beamed with a grin in the back seat.

The car ride home consisted of the usual. Silence, bickering then more silence. Once Kat was dropped off, the boys talked amongst themselves in the back seat as Luna sat in silence with her thoughts.

She pulled into their street and slowed down and turned into their drive way. Their house stood alone with white and mint green painting finishes. She hadn't even turned off the engine yet before the back doors swung open. As she collected her things, she then got out and locked the car. She looked up and saw Kyle trailing behind.

"You okay squirt?" She smiled at him as she patted his shoulder. He glanced at her nodding.
"I'm fine. I told you." He bluntly told her. He then stopped once Elliot and Wyatt headed into their house.

"Please stop calling me that." Kyle rolled his eyes. "What? You used to think it was cute. You loved finding nemo!" Luna giggled. Kyle stared at her. He might've been her little brother but he was practically taller than her.

"I'm not five anymore, and don't call my friends it. It's weird." He sighed before he walked into the house.

Luna stood outside as she watched him walk away. She sighed as the feeling of a punched gut twisted her stomach slightly.
