Another month has passed and Y/N still continued to investigate secretively. Being able to sneak around without anyone noticing was a gift, or so she said to herself. Rowan had full faith on her, knowing that she would be able to uncover the truth.

Y/N did go over things with Rowan but not all things were said. She thought that if children were not believed about a carnival in the forest, who would believe her?
In any case they'd think she had gone mad and be put into the loony bin.

She was at her desk reviewing her findings, she had sent the rope to the lab to check for fingerprints and she was waiting to hear back. Keeping to herself and not going on any company outings, she was able to gather more evidence.

The silence in the office was interrupted by a knock at the door. She gathered her papers and she crammed them into the drawer, going on the computer and going over a presentation for a meeting.

"Come in." Rowan spoke with authority as the door opened and a police man walked in.

He sat at Rowans desk and he cleared his throat. "You wanted to see me Rowan?" the man spoke as he seemed rather annoyed to be there. Y/N did not look at them but she listened for anything that may help the investigation.

"Yes of course. Where are the reports on the missing children?" Rowan went straight to the point, seeing as this was something important. The officer got a little startled by the question and he cleared his throat.

Gathering his composure before he spoke once again. "There are reports...I mean why wouldn't there be any?" the officer diverted from the question itself, however he did raise more suspicion.

Rowan raised an eyebrow and he straightened up. "Sir, that was not my question. My question was, where are those reports?" he asked as he intertwined his fingers and he stared at the officer with narrowed eyes.

The officer adjusted his vest as if it felt to tight at the moment, he began to sweat and look at other things avoiding the other male's gaze.
"Um...They are..." he took a moment as if he was trying to think of what to say.

"It is not a hard question, where are those reports?" Rowan asked once again demanding the other to not beat around the bush.
The officer cleared his throat and he gave out a small nervous chuckle.

"Well...You see the issue with that question is that I was told that...we aren't allowed to give out that information to the public." The officer stammered a bit, making it clear that he was making it up as he talked.

"Is that so?" Rowan asked as he raised an eyebrow, he flipped through some papers and he pulled up a document.
"As I recall this is the criminal investigation division, this building consists of private investigators and people that assist the police department when they prove to be incompetent."

The officer gulped and he rubbed the back of his neck, he was going to talk however Rowan lifted his hand up.
"Furthermore the information of missing people reports is meant to be public knowledge." he stated as he placed a document in front of the officer.
Y/N took her phone out and she began to record their conversation.

The sweaty male looked at the document noticing that it was the paperwork stating that no report has been made after the third disappearance.
"Uh-um...It's obvious that this is forged. This document is fake." the officer stated trying to discredit the papers.

"Interesting, I will be informing your superior of what you think of their document." Rowan stated as he gathered the documents and placed them in a folder.
The officer visibly nervous, he straightened up and gave out another awkward chuckle.
