Jump City. Home to the Titans. Home to Raven.
She had lived there since escaping her father. Ever since then she felt welcome. She felt like she was somewhere she could help people, be someone.
Of course, she was happy when she was accepted onto the Titans. The boys hitting on her was a downer, but the leader, Kori, assured her that it was natural for them. Kori would say that though.
After living in Jump City, but not the Titans Tower, she came across Damian Wayne. Initially thought to be an average citizen doing Wayne things in Jump.
However, she soon found that was not the case.
After an incident where Robin appeared to assist the Titans, his mask was torn and she knew who he was. She evened it out and revealed herself to him. While they had only ran into each other a few times at the library, they felt obligated to make things fair.
Frankly, Raven found Damian interesting. He was incredibly stubborn and distant to most people, except her. He seemed to welcome her presence quite warmly.
After another incident, she learned all about him when she healed him. He also learned about her. This was something that Raven didn't want to happen; her best friend after five months could've forgotten about her and moved away.
To her surprise, she found him to be accepting, but skeptical. They agreed that it didn't matter at that point and Damian would help her in anyway he can.
When that time came, Raven was forced back to hell and imprison her father once again. Damian helped her every step of the way and convinced her that staying in hell wasn't an option.
Once they returned, Damian confessed his feelings for Raven. Being sure that it was love, he acted and told her everything, how his heart was racing. His cheeks felt flustered. His hands would shake. All of that only happened around her.
Of course, she reciprocated his feelings and the two started dating.
A year had passed by quickly. Damian moved in with Raven and they were even considered partners in crime around the city. Safe to say that people caught on to their relationship and all eyes were on them. Distracting in their line of work.
Fortunately, this was not a massive issue in their fighting performance.
Things livened up a bit more in their relationship on their anniversary of when they began dating. It was a day to mark Trigon's defeat and when they made the best decision for both of them.
"Mmm." Raven groaned as she awoke. Her hand still on Damian's sharp jaw. Looking at him at eye level. 'Still not taller.' She thought teasingly.
As she began to caress her lover's cheek, Damian awoke as slowly as she did and smiled.
"Good morning, Raven." Damian tiredly said. His eyes were still barely open and yet he smiled.
"Good morning, Dami. Remember what today is?" Raven asked amusingly.
Damian pondered over the answer, trying to throw Raven off. "National tennis day?" He lazily asked.
"What?! No! You can't remember?" She asked loudly as she began to pout. She still fell for his tricks every time. Not something she expects from someone who is usually stoic and serious.
"Our... anniversary. Of course I remember, idiot." Damian said whilst laughing.
Raven smiled and playfully pushed him, trying to get him off the bed. The two couldn't stop laughing and eventually, Damian embraced Raven and dragged her down with him.
The two went to have breakfast and share some tea. Damian would be training for a little while. Raven would be thinking of things to do for their anniversary. Of course it would probably get interrupted by some crime, but that just came with the job.
Damian walked out of the training room he set up, shirt off and towel around his neck. A bucket load of sweat on him as he decided to go and shower.
"Care to join me, Beloved?" Damian cheekily asked as he held out his hand. Raven smiled at him and took it without hesitation. 'Good start.' Raven confidently thought.
Once they were finished, they sat down and discussed their plans.
Eventually, they decided to go to the lake where they first met and then go to the top of the building they discovered their identities.
"Can't believe it's already been a year." Raven absentmindedly muttered. Damian picked up on this and held her hand tight.
"You know, I was probably already falling for you back then." Damian said.
"Really?" Raven averted her gaze to his eyes which looked honest and genuine.
"Yeah. I didn't know what it was then. I'm happy I do now." Damian said as he smiled towards Raven. She recreated that smile and leaned in to kiss him.
It was loving and long. The two of them getting another taste of each other and slowly wrapping their arms around each other.
As they parted Raven spoke whilst maintaining her smile.
"Took you long enough, didn't it Boy Wonder." Damian became slightly flustered and kissed her again whilst smiling.
The lake became their favourite spot that day and would continue to be for as long as they remembered.
Once they returned home, they enacted the one act that they couldn't wait to do more than anything. They made love until well into the night. Preemptive in doing it in case of bad guys. That didn't steal away the magic they felt, however.
After a quick patrol they returned to bed and awaited the next day.
Unfortunately, they had an unexpected visitor that next day.
