Raven had never felt so weird. The lack of powers wasn't making the Earth feel different. There were no changes in how she saw the world or how the world was in general. It was her.

Not having to think nor worry about her powers made her feel like her responsibilities had gone, her strength had gone and her courage had gone.

It was not a nice feeling for her. Yet, as they walked, Damian still held her hand like nothing had ever happened. In a way it hadn't, not between them. Their bond was still there, she could feel it.

Raven wondered why Damian was so calm about it and she envied that calmness. It was comforting for her to at least know that she shouldn't have to worry about her powers anymore. They were useful, but they carried a heavy burden.

"Raven." Damian said.

Raven looked over at him, puzzled. She looked around and realised they were at the lake they loved so much. The one where they first met.

"I know how hard it's been and I understand how hard it's gonna get from here, so I wanted to bring you to a place that means a lot. Because, I never wanna lose you and I will always love you. Just like how I have to love this lake, because I first met you here."

Raven looked at the lake with him before turning to see his confident, stoic face turn into a nervous smile. 'What is he so nervous about?'

"Raven, you know I will never leave you don't you?" Damian shyly asked as he faced Raven whilst scratching the back of his head.

"Mhm, I know." Raven replied nonchalantly.

"And you know, I... want you to be happy... and I don't ever want you to feel unhappy. So I want... I want to do something which shows how much I love you and how happy I want you to be." Damian stammered out.

"What is going on?" Raven asked looking slightly worried.

"Raven! Will you marry me?!" Damian quickly said as he jumped onto one knee. His face quickly turned to one of pain from literally dropping to one knee.

"OW!"

Raven just stood there awestruck. Damian had finally proposed, he finally asked the question she wanted to hear from him the most.

Raven began to tear up and held both hands over her mouth.

"D-Damian...? Are you sure? Will I not just be a burden to you now?" Raven asked.

"You could never be a burden! You are the person I love the most and want to spend the rest of my life with! I'll do whatever it takes to make you happy, because you make me happy!" Damian yelled out with all his confidence.

Raven hadn't even processed all his words yet. Nevertheless she jumped into Damian's arms and sent them both into the lake. The water didn't bother her and she wrapped her arms tightly around him as they floated there.

"Yes! Yes, I will marry you!! You already make me happy, but I want to marry you and spend all my life with you!" Raven exclaimed.

Damian, unfazed by the water, smiled like a kid who just won a lifetime supply of candy. He embraced Raven before putting the ring he had managed not to lose on her finger.

The ring was a clear silver with two birds on it. One Raven and one Robin. It had definitely been custom made, so Damian had clearly been planning this for a while. All of that made Raven happy.

"I love you, Damian. Please protect my happiness."

"I love you too, Raven."

They then began a slow but powerful kiss that could've made the two glow there and then. It was the moonlight that made that a reality as it shined on the clean water.

From that day forward, Damian and Raven would prioritise each other before anything and everything else. Damian would protect Raven's heart and happiness. Raven would do all she could to be there for Damian and make him happy.

After an hour longer out, they returned home and settled down in the best way they could. They made love for two hours straight and couldn't have stopped the happiness flowing through them. Making the usual sex more romantic and slow until the final moments.

"Fuck!" Raven whispered loudly. She was shivering until Damian pulled her into his arms and she smiled, contempt.

"We stayed in that lake for too long." Damian said.

"That lake means so much, I could've stayed in it forever."

"Me too."

The next day Raven and Damian would return to the norm and live out their lives how that wanted too... they hoped, but...
