It had finally happened. The one thing Raven always wanted Damian to do was propose. Now he had finally done it and she had said yes.
To be honest, Raven had dramatically changed Damian's fate and she hoped it was for the better. She kind of liked the one purple eye he had now next to his natural green eye. It was a reminder of the connection they shared, the bond they forged and the trust they held in each other.
Whilst laying in bed, after another great night of sex. Raven began to think about all they had been through together and how she may not even be alive if it weren't for Damian. The same went the other way around.
Raven gazed at the ring on her finger. It was a beautiful ring and probably way too expensive. It was definitely custom made, there was no way she'd ever seen a Robin and Raven ring in a store. She loved it.
"Having regrets already?" Damian sarcastically asked.
Raven looked up at him as she moved closer to him and allowed him to sneak his arms around her as she did the same. She wanted to live with Damian forever like this. A peaceful life, a happy life with nothing to make them suffer again. She knew that was a good dream, but still a dream for now.
"No. I could never regret this." She comfortably said.
"Good."
The room was silent and they slowly began to fall asleep in each other's arms.
The next day proved to be an ordinary one. They were already eating breakfast before they knew it and the day appeared to be speeding by.
It was all good. Until, Damian thought about his patrol. He usually patrolled with Raven and she had given this thought too. Damian stood there, about to put his suit on, the same one that turned black due to Raven's powers. The powers she no longer had.
Raven looked at him and gave him a reassuring smile. Behind it was a bit of sadness. She loved to patrol with Damian and it was easy to keep him safe if he did anything stupid.
"You can go, Dami. It's ok." Raven said unconvincingly.
"No."
"Dami..."
"I won't go if it will make you unhappy." Damian said.
"Dami, you love to patrol."
"I love you more."
"Look, just enjoy it. I doubt there will be anything major anyway."
Damian looked at Raven in a concerned manner. He never liked to leave her and he always knew that she loved to patrol. They liked the time together doing something unique.
"All the more reason for me to stay."
"Damian if you stay it'll make me feel bad. I don't want to rob you of this." Raven confessed.
"It won't be the same without you there. I can't go without you." Damian protested.
Raven sighed heavily before she looked back at Damian. She closed her eyes and nodded. She felt a lot of guilt. There was a lot that was going to happen now with Raven's lack of powers as well as their wedding. They both had to accept that.
"Fine. In that case come share this bottle with me." Raven said excitedly, pushing the guilt away for now as she pulled Damian in the kitchen by the hand.
Raven pulled out a bottle which looked to be three litres of alcohol. What kind? She had mixed some together.
"I've been waiting to crack this open for months." Raven said.
"Yeah I see why." Damian said as he spotted the note on the bottle reading: engagement bottle.
"You took so long." Raven said humorously.
"Sorry. I just didn't really know when to do it." Damian replied nervously.
"Haha, it's ok. I would've waited all my life if I had to."
Damian noticed that Raven was definitely drunk by Damian's first glass.
Sorry I would keep writing but I nearly passed out from tiredness.
