Another mission. Another mission that Damian had gone on. He'd gone without her again. No powers was the right thing to do.
Raven kept telling herself that she had made the right call. That she had made things better for her and Damian. That she could give Damian a way to fight without her being a burden. That she gave Damian one of the best ways to protect himself.
She believed that Damian was much stronger than her. That it wouldn't be a burden to him like it was to her. She was wrong. It was a great burden for him, as was proven by this mission.
Damian had to stop a bomb from detonating in a hospital. It was an extremely radioactive bomb and would ensure that everyone in the hospital would be dead within weeks. Damian would never let that happen.
Raven heard about the mission from Kori, who agreed that she would share details on Damian's missions if she knows anything. Apparently the bomb was activated and was on a timer of five minutes. It would also go down by one minute every time a meta, or anyone with powers, would enter the building.
Damian was on his own.
Raven hurried over to the hospital, remaining outside in case the bomb went off. She could see past the police barricade and the swarm of civilians, the gang who had taken over the hospital.
They didn't look like anything more than street thugs. To have such a deadly weapon they must have had help. A number of people came to kind, but Raven couldn't worry about that now. Damian was still in there with one minute left.
Raven's powers helped heal and protect in most cases, but radiation is another thing. Healing works, but is incredibly draining. A shield would just trap the radiation inside. There was not a lot Damian could do.
To her shock, Raven saw Damian carrying the bomb and flying up. He was going to try and get it so the radiation couldn't reach the surface. The amount of energy required for that scared Raven.
Her fear felt justified when she saw Damian's purple eye flash red. He was tapping into his darker side like Raven had done before.
Damian came crashing down after disposing of the bomb. Needless to say Damian looked pissed. He looked as if he were ready to pounce on anyone who would come near him. Raven would not be deterred.
She approached Damian by running straight at him. She could see Damian still looking at her like he was going to slash his new imbued sword across her stomach.
Then Raven remembered, the baby. If Damian did attack her then he could kill the baby. Regardless, she still wanted to reach her suture husband.
"Dami! It's me! Come back to me!"
"Hahahaha! I can't wait to own this body! Maybe I'll burn you! Yeah! That's a good idea... idea." Damian lost confidence in what he was saying and stared at his hands.
His eye returned to purple and his body began shaking.
"As if I'd ever let you hurt her!! Begone, you Monster!!" Damian yelled before a barrage of purple energy accompanied him and, in an instant, Damian stabbed his sword through the ground.
"Hey, Beloved. Sorry to make you worry." Damian said before he collapsed in Raven's arms as she desperately tried to keep him up.
"I'm still worried, idiot." She muttered.
Damian also lost control like she did. There was not telling what Damian could do with that much power. It seemed a good time as any for Raven to begin training him properly for this power.
Sorry it's kinda short, but I need to sleep 😴 👍🏻
