The sound of glass being shattered rang throughout the entire apartment. Pieces of glass littered the floor as a man dressed all in black with a ninja mask entered the room.
Quickly and quietly, this man placed a device on the floor and the room was submerged in a clear gas.
Moving cautiously, this man drew his sword he kept holstered at his side and held it up defensively.
Aware of the powers of the woman who slept soundly in the bed, Raven, the man carefully woke her up and dragged her to the floor.
Raven was confused, she felt weak and like she had just fallen out of bed. She gazed around the room, noticing a sleeping Damian and an assassin above him, holding a sword to his throat as he stared into Raven's eyes.
"Dami...an." Raven struggled to say.
"It's pointless to resist. This gas weakens the body of anyone who breathes it in. The heir to the demon will not wake up, and you cannot use your powers." The assassin explained as he lowered the sword onto Damian's neck, drawing a small amount of blood from him.
"Stop! What d-do you w-want?" Raven coughed out. Her eyes desperate and yet, still determined.
"You will come with me to the League of Assassins, you will be queen and you will present us with an heir. We have already taken his DNA now it is time to begin." The assassin told Raven.
Raven understood what this would mean. She could barely stand and this gas was not going away anytime soon. She had no choice.
"Fine. I-I'll come. J-just let me..."
"You may leave a note."
Raven wrote her note and placed it beside Damian's head. She lovingly stroked his cheek, realising that if things didn't go well, it could be the last time she sees him. She didn't want to do this, but if they knew how to disable Raven's abilities, it was not going to be easy to win against the League.
Raven leant down and kissed Damian on the forehead as a tear ran down her cheek and she began to weep.
Raven wasn't stupid though; she remembered the tracker that Damian had placed on her and she decided to hide it on her in a place that wouldn't be searched. She didn't want to make Damian do anything dangerous, but she covered that in her not she had for him.
Upon Raven leaving, Damian awoke. Having sensed the gas, he began to hold his breath as soon as he detected it, but by then Raven had said her goodbye.
Damian knew what was going on and reached for Raven's note.
'Damian,
You know what's happened, the League has taken me to wherever it is they are. I know you'll use your tracker on me and try to rescue me, but I don't wanna put you in danger.
All I ever wanted was to spend my life with you. To always be there for you and you for me. You were always the man I loved, and still are. But, I can't see you in danger because of me, so I'm asking you not to come and find me. If I know you I know you'll ignore this and come anyway, so I want you to promise me that you can stay alive and unharmed, please.
If... if this is the last time I can say anything to you... then I want you to know: I love you more than anything else in existence. Nothing could even come close. I wish we could get married and have a kid or two, but...
I have to go now, Dami... goodbye, I love you.'Despite being aware of what was going on, Damian felt a pain in his chest. It was like he had been stabbed in the heart. He felt thankful and sad, lonely and loved.
He was not going to listen to Raven telling him not to come. He was going to find her and get her back if it cost him everything.
Meanwhile, Raven found herself in a luxurious room full of old fashioned art and an outfit on display. She had a feeling she'd be meeting the host soon, so it was best to prepare.
She wore the outfit of green and gold, not her style, but she was in no position to argue to anyone.
The door opened abruptly and Raven couldn't feel any worse about who was there.
